Installation manual for the HAI (Home Automation, Inc.) Model 71A00-1 HLC Load Control Module, a remote-controlled heavy-duty switch for 120VAC/240VAC appliances.
Installation manual for the HAI (Home Automation, Inc.) Model 71A00-1 HLC Load Control Module — a remote-controlled heavy-duty switch for operating 120VAC or 240VAC electrical appliances.
The Model 71A00-1 HLC Load Control Module is a remote-controlled heavy-duty switch used to operate 120VAC or 240VAC electrical appliances such as water heaters, pool pumps, baseboard heaters, and branch lighting loads. It can be controlled locally via a Decora-style rocker switch, or remotely via a UPB powerline signal. It also includes a manual disconnect switch.
The Model 71A00-1 contains a 35A00-3 HLC 600W Non-Dimming Switch internally — refer to the instruction sheet included with the 35A00-3 for additional safety, operation, and programming details.
Install according to Figure 1 (120VAC devices) or Figure 2 (240VAC devices), below. Caution: use the manual disconnect switch when servicing.
Uses a single breaker. Wire the Black (hot), White (neutral), and Green (ground) conductors from the breaker into the module, with the load connected via Black/Red/White to the 120VAC device.
Uses a double-pole breaker with L1, L2, and N terminals. Wire Black (L1), Red (L2), White (N), and Green (ground) from the breaker into the module, feeding the 240VAC load.
