    Full user manual for the FortrezZ MIMOlite — a Z-Wave® Multiple Input/Multiple Output interface and bridge module that converts a wired or wireless input into a wired or wireless output. Housed in a plastic enclosure for indoor use only.

    Overview

    MIMOlite provides one analog/digital input (SIG1) and one isolated relay output (NO-COM-NC), all controllable via Z-Wave. A program switch handles Z-Wave inclusion/exclusion, and a status LED reports device state. The analog input can trigger based on a user-defined voltage range, count pulses, and be associated with up to two other Z-Wave devices so they automatically turn on/off in response to a trigger.

    Using MIMOlite in a Z-Wave Network

    Inclusion (Adding to a Network)

    1. Set up inclusion mode at the controller (refer to your controller's manual).
    2. If the LED shows a periodic single blink, the unit auto-includes. Otherwise, briefly press the MIMOlite button once.
    3. The Status LED blinks when inclusion completes.

    Exclusion (Removing from a Network)

    1. Set up exclusion mode at the controller.
    2. Press the MIMOlite button; the controller confirms removal and the LED blinks when exclusion completes.

    Associations

    The MIMOlite input supports five association groups (max 2 devices each):

    Status LED Indications

    Output Configuration

    The relay can be set to auto-turn-on when the input is triggered (Configuration Command Class Parameter 3), or controlled directly via Z-Wave commands (default: no input-to-relay mapping — when mapping is enabled, Z-Wave relay commands are overridden). Momentary vs. Latched operation is selected via jumper P5 on the circuit board (jumper off = momentary, default 500ms; jumper on = latched). This can also be overridden once in-network via Z-Wave Parameter 11, with momentary duration adjustable from 100ms to 25.5s in 100ms increments.

    Installation

    1. Set jumper P5 (2-pin connector beside P3): leave ON for Latched relay function, remove for Momentary.
    2. Apply DC power to P0 — do not exceed 24VDC. Program MIMOlite into your Z-Wave controller using the button next to P0.
    3. Connect the monitored signal to SIG1 (P1, labeled – and +) and relay contacts to NO/NC/COM on P4. Follow polarity and do not exceed 24VDC max input (or 16Hz for trigger counting).

    Power Dropout Behavior

    If supplied power drops below ~10.5V, MIMOlite sends an Alarm Command Class report (Type 0x08, Level 0xFF) to Association Group 3. When power recovers above ~11V, it sends a corresponding recovery alarm (Type 0x08, Level 0x00).

    Warnings & Precautions

    • The dry-contact relays cannot support loads exceeding specification — exceeding switching power can damage the unit and may cause property damage or personal injury.
    • Do not use the relays to switch residential or industrial AC lines — low-power load control only.
    • Do not store flammable materials near the unit; do not apply power before the unit is fully assembled.
    • Disconnect power before servicing.
    • Do not mount inside a metal enclosure or near metal objects — this reduces wireless range.
    • MIMOlite must not be used in life-support and/or safety applications.

    Warranty

    One-year limited manufacturer warranty against defects in material and workmanship under normal use. FortrezZ's liability is limited to repair, replacement, or refund of the purchase amount. Returns require a valid Returned Goods Authorization (RGA) and, if returning directly to FortrezZ, a $9.95 return shipping/handling fee within 30 days of purchase.
