    Installation instructions for the Ecolink ECI-SZW7-ECO Z-Wave Plus Chime+Siren — a line-powered, Z-Wave Plus enabled indoor siren and chime with 14 built-in sounds, 24-hour battery backup, and full Z-Wave Plus S2 security.

    Overview

    • Z-Wave Plus enabled indoor chime and siren, plugs directly into a wall receptacle
    • Line-powered (120V AC, 60Hz), with a non-user-serviceable lithium-ion battery providing up to 24 hours of backup power
    • Operating range up to 100 ft (30.5m) line-of-sight; operating temperature 32°–120°F (0°–49°C)
    • Indoor use only

    Adding to a Z-Wave Network

    SmartStart (recommended)

    Locate the device's DSK QR code on the back of the unit, on the packaging, or on the included leaflet. Plug the device into a wall receptacle — it automatically enters SmartStart inclusion mode. Scan the QR code with a Z-Wave controller that supports SmartStart to add it (refer to your controller's manual for activating SmartStart).

    Classic Inclusion

    With the device powered, press the smaller Add/Test button. The device enters classic inclusion mode (both classic inclusion with Node Information Frame, and Network Wide Inclusion). During inclusion the Green LED blinks 3 times every 3 seconds. If inclusion times out, the LED blinks Green and Red alternately.

    Removing / Excluding the Device

    Put your controller in Remove/Exclusion mode, then press the smaller Add/Test button following the same procedure used to add it. On successful removal the red LED comes on solid for 1 second. Any Z-Wave controller — regardless of manufacturer — can remove a Z-Wave device from a network.

    Factory Default Reset

    Remove the device from the power outlet. While holding the Add/Test button, re-insert it into the outlet and continue holding for 10 seconds. The Green LED flashes during that time; after 10 seconds the red LED comes on solid for 1 second, confirming the reset — the device is now ready to be re-added to a network.

    S2 Security

    The device uses industry-standard elliptic key cryptography (S2) to encrypt sensitive communications. The DSK code printed on the device (and in QR form) is used to authenticate encrypted command classes. A Security Enabled Z-Wave Controller is required to fully utilize the product.

    Sound Library

    14 built-in sounds are available, playable via the Sound Switch, Basic, or Indicator command classes. Volume is adjustable via the side buttons, the Configuration command class, or the Sound Switch command class. A Basic Set of 0xFF triggers whichever sound is configured as the primary siren/chime.

    The volume +/- buttons on the side override the current volume level. Emergency sounds (siren) always play at full volume regardless of the current volume setting.

    Custom sounds via SD card: Format an SD card as FAT16. Sound files must start with a decimal number followed by the sound name and a .wav extension (mono encoding).

    Ecolink warrants this product against defects in material and workmanship for one (1) year from the date of original purchase. Ecolink's sole obligation is to replace a defective product at its discretion.
