Flic Hub Mini — User Manual (Setup, Pairing, Factory Reset)

User manual for the Flic Hub Mini — a Bluetooth-to-internet bridge that pairs with Flic buttons and the Flic Twist to enable smart home automations, controlled via the Flic App.

Getting Started

You'll need:

1. An active internet connection (Ethernet or WiFi)
2. A phone with the Flic App installed
3. A Flic button or Flic Twist within Bluetooth range of the Hub Mini

The phone is only needed during setup — once complete, you don't need it to use Flic day-to-day.

Power

Connect the USB-C cable and an external power adapter to the Hub Mini. It powers on with a bright red LED, which dims after ~15 seconds and becomes discoverable. Follow the app's instructions to complete initial setup.

Recommended: use a power adapter rated at least 1A output. A lower-rated adapter may cause unstable behavior.

Internet Connection

Open the Flic App and follow the setup steps to connect the Hub Mini to your WiFi network. Without an active internet connection, not all features will be available. To check connection status, open the Hub Mini settings page in the app, find the network settings section, and press "test."

Pairing Flic Buttons & Twist

• New Flic: tap the "+" button in the bottom-right of the Hub Mini app page, then press and hold the Flic button or Twist — pairing takes only a few seconds.
• Previously paired Flic (on another device): first remove it from that device — go to that Flic's app page, tap the gear icon, and select "Remove." Then pair it as described above.

Factory Reset

Press and hold the pinhole reset button for 10–15 seconds. This erases all account settings and returns the Hub Mini to default.

If you remove the Hub Mini from your account and reconnect, you'll be prompted for the Factory Password, found on the label on the underside of the device. If you set a custom password during initial setup and forget it, a factory reset is required to regain access.

Safety Usage Guidelines

• Not a toy — contains small parts that present a choking hazard; not suitable for children or pets.
• Do not attempt to service the product yourself.
• Operating temperature range: -20°C to +54°C.
• Clean only with a damp cloth — do not submerge or use chemical/abrasive cleaners.
• Flic buttons are not waterproof — submersion causes irreversible damage outside the warranty's scope.
• Battery life shortens with heavy use and/or extreme conditions.

Warranty

Shortcut Labs AB warrants Flic hardware against defects in materials and workmanship for 24 months from date of delivery to the original retail purchaser. At its discretion, Shortcut Labs will repair, replace, or refund the original purchase price for a valid defect claim.

Warranty does not cover: purchases from unauthorized resellers, non-compliance with setup/activation instructions, or damage from abuse, accident, modification, moisture, or other causes outside Shortcut Labs' control. Battery wear is considered normal and is not covered.

Regulatory Notices

FCC: This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to: (1) this device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) it must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. Tested and found compliant with Class B digital device limits, providing reasonable protection against interference in residential installations. If interference to radio/TV reception occurs, try reorienting the antenna, increasing separation from the receiver, using a different outlet circuit, or consulting a technician.

RF Exposure: antennas must maintain a minimum separation distance of 20 cm from all persons and must not be co-located with other antennas/transmitters.

Industry Canada (IC): complies with license-exempt RSS standards; RF exposure is below IC limits and compliant under mobile exposure conditions (antennas >20cm from the body).
