    Overview

    The FIBARO Button (FGPB-101) is a compact, battery-powered, Z-Wave Plus compatible device used to trigger scenes and control other Z-Wave devices with one to five clicks or a press-and-hold. It can be mounted on any surface in any location — e.g. beside the bed or under a desk — and supports a panic mode where every press triggers an emergency scene.

The manufacturer, Fibar Group S.A., is not responsible for loss or damage resulting from not following the operating instructions.

    Main Features

    Basic Activation

    1. Press and turn the button counter-clockwise to open the casing.
    2. Remove the paper strip underneath the battery.
    3. Press and turn the button clockwise to close the casing.
    4. Place the device within direct range of your Z-Wave controller.
    5. Set the main controller into (security/non-security) add mode — see the controller's manual.
    6. Click the button at least 6 times.
    7. Wait for the device to be added; successful adding is confirmed by the controller.
    8. Install the device in the desired location using the attached self-adhesive pad.
    9. Click the button 4 times to wake it up.

    Adding / Removing the Device

    Adding (Inclusion): Place the Button within range of the controller, set the controller into add mode, click the Button at least six times, and wait for the adding process to complete. The Z-Wave controller will confirm success.

    Removing (Exclusion): Place the Button within range, set the controller into remove mode, click the Button at least six times, and wait for the removal process to complete. Removing the Button restores all default parameters.

    Operating the Button

    Action Default Behavior
    1 click Switch associated devices on/off and/or trigger a scene
    2 clicks Switch associated devices to maximum level and/or trigger a scene
    3 clicks No action by default and/or trigger a scene
    4 clicks Wake the device up and/or trigger a scene
    5 clicks Start reset procedure (press & hold 5s to confirm) and/or trigger a scene
    6+ clicks Learning mode (adding/removing)
    Hold Start level change up/down and/or trigger a scene
    Release Stop level change and/or trigger a scene

    The Button needs to be woken up (4 clicks) to receive new configuration from the controller, such as parameters and associations.

    Reset Procedure

    Restores factory settings, deleting all Z-Wave controller and user configuration:

    1. Click the Button exactly five times.
    2. Press and hold the Button for at least 5 seconds.

    Associations

    Association allows direct control of other Z-Wave devices (Dimmer, Relay Switch, Roller Shutter, or a scene) without involving the main controller, provided the associated device is within direct range. The Button supports four association groups:

    • Group 1 – "Lifeline": reports device status; single device only (main controller by default).
    • Group 2 – "On/Off": assigned to clicking the button; turns associated devices on/off.
    • Group 3 – "Dimmer": assigned to holding the button; changes level of associated devices.
    • Group 4 – "Alarm": assigned to clicking and/or holding (triggers defined in parameter 30); sends alarm frames to associated devices.

    Groups 2–4 support up to 5 regular or multichannel devices each; the Lifeline group supports only 1 node. More than 10 total associated devices is not recommended, as response time may be delayed.

    To configure via a Home Center controller: go to device options, select the "Advanced" tab, modify parameter values, save, then wake the device manually (4 clicks) to confirm.
