    Quick Start Guide for the Ezlo Smart Water Shut-Off Valve — a Wi-Fi enabled ball valve actuator that doubles as a Z-Wave home automation hub, providing leak-prevention and remote water control.

    What's in the Box

    • Actuator with manual override handle, shut-off/open water flow buttons, reset button, and status LED
    • AC power adapter
    • Port for an optional flow meter

    What you'll need: a ¾", 1", or 1¼" Ezlo Ball Valve (sold separately), a home Wi-Fi network, and an iOS or Android smartphone/tablet.

    Note: The ball valve is plumbed directly into your home's water main and may require professional installation. Contact a local plumber before proceeding if you need assistance.

    1. Install the App

    While waiting for the ball valve to be installed, set up the control hub functionality. Visit ezlo.com/app on your iOS or Android phone/tablet to download the Vera Mobile app, then create your Vera Mobile account — the app walks you through it and automatically links the account to your hub.

    2. Add Your Hub

    1. From the My Controllers list, tap Add New Controller and select the Water Valve.
    2. Connect the A/C power adapter to the bottom port on the rear of the Smart Water Shut-Off Valve. Once powered, the LED blinks orange.
    3. Follow the prompts to connect the valve to your home Wi-Fi network.
    4. Once connected, the LED turns steady green when the valve is open, or steady red when closed.

    Note: If the valve fails to connect to Wi-Fi, it may be too far from your router — use a range extender to boost the signal.

    3. Connect the Actuator to the Ball Valve

    Once the ball valve is plumbed into your home's water system, disconnect the Smart Water Shut-Off Valve from its AC power cable and snap it onto the ball valve. Reconnect it to a nearby power source — use an extension cord if the valve is outside or plumbed away from a power outlet.

    4. Setup

    Using the app, find the Water Valve under Devices, then toggle the valve closed and open to confirm operation.

    For added capability, pair the valve with a Z-Wave Water Leak Sensor and create a scene that automatically closes the valve when water is detected — test it by dripping water onto the sensor.

    Note: If the valve is more than 30 feet from your leak sensors, you may need to bring them within 10 feet of each other for initial pairing, then add a Z-Wave range extender for them to communicate reliably at a distance.

    5. Adding Devices to the Smart Water Shut-Off Valve

    The valve's hub capabilities let you control multiple devices from a single app. Add leak sensors, lights, thermostats, and more by tapping the + sign from the Devices screen to launch the Device Pairing Wizard.

    Key App Features

    • Modes — Pre-set Home, Away, Night, and Vacation modes control all devices with a single tap.
    • Scenes — Schedule lights to turn off when you leave for work, or fade up as day turns to night.
    • Notifications — Push notifications or emails alert you (or other users) to events at home, such as a door opening or motion detected.

    Regulatory Information

    This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the condition that the device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, providing reasonable protection against harmful interference in residential installations. If harmful interference to radio/TV reception occurs, try reorienting the receiving antenna, increasing separation between equipment and receiver, connecting to a different circuit, or consulting a dealer/technician. Changes or modifications not expressly approved by Ezlo Innovation could void the user's authority to operate the equipment. This equipment should be operated with a minimum distance of 20cm between the radiator and your body.

    Complies with Industry Canada ICES-003 (CAN ICES-3(B)/NMB-3(B)) and licence-exempt RSS standard(s); meets IC RSS-102 radiation exposure limits for an uncontrolled environment with a minimum 20cm separation distance.
