    Installation instructions for the ELK-AERF9 Two-Way Wireless Transceiver for the E27 Alarm Engine — enables the E27 board to support Elk's two-way wireless line of sensors.

    Application

    The ELK-AERF9 is a two-way wireless transceiver that allows the E27 Alarm Engine to support Elk's two-way wireless sensor line. It connects to a dedicated connector on the E27 board, or to an ELK-AEXRFA RF Data Bus Adapter, and features LED indicators for status and RF signals.

    Installation Steps

    Before installing, turn the E27 Master Power Switch OFF.

    1. Remove the cover from the E27 board or AEXRFA adapter, and locate the 6-pin connector and 3 screw studs in the upper corner.
    2. Carefully align the 6-pin male connector in the lower-right corner of the AERF9 with the 6-pin female connector on the E27 board or AEXRFA adapter. Ensure it's fully seated.
    3. Install the 3 provided screws through the AERF9 into the screw studs on the E27 board or AEXRFA adapter.
    4. Install one of the two included antennas: use the straight antenna when the transceiver is on the E27 board; use the offset antenna when it's on the AEXRFA adapter. Install the appropriate antenna into the ANT screw terminal in the upper-left corner of the AERF9.

    LED Indicators

    LED Meaning
    STATUS — Off No power to the unit
    STATUS — On solid Powered but not enabled with the E27, or microprocessor not functioning
    STATUS — Blinking Normal operating mode
    ENROLLED RF Flashes when a signal packet from a valid (enrolled) device is received by the E27
    ALL RF Flashes on any transmission detected on the AERF9's frequency
