    Installation instructions and specifications for the ELK-130 High Powered Siren Driver — an exceptionally loud, industrial-grade siren driver for security, early warning, and crowd-protection applications.

    Overview

    The ELK-130 delivers an intense sweeping yelp sound with a wide operating voltage range, high loudness, and the ability to power from one source while being triggered from another. This unique driver has no equal for loud, attention-getting siren applications.

    Installation Instructions

    1. Before making any connections, ensure the control panel and power supply are powered down.
    2. Connect the SPEAKER terminals to one or more alarm-type speakers (rated at minimum 20 watts each). Speaker output is rated down to 1 Ohm — do not exceed the output ratings of the control or power source.
    3. Connect the Yelp and/or Steady inputs to positive (+) switched alarm outputs on the control panel, then connect the NEG input to the negative of the control or power source. Observe polarity. Note: if both inputs trigger simultaneously, Steady takes priority over Yelp.
    4. Connect the positive (+) of a 12–24 VDC power source to the PWR+ terminal, and the negative (–) to the PWR- terminal. Observe polarity.

    Speaker Load Examples

    • Two 8-ohm speakers wired in parallel = 4-ohm load
    • Four 8-ohm speakers wired in parallel = 2-ohm load

    Powering the ELK-130 from a Control Back-up Battery

    Using the included ELK-W120 fused dual-connection battery wires with a 30 amp fuse: connect the back-up battery's positive (+) and negative (-) terminals through the fused wires to the switched positive alarm outputs and negative terminal on the control panel, then wire onward to the ELK-130's PWR+, PWR-, +YELP/+STEADY, and -NEG terminals as shown in the manual's wiring diagram.
