The Chief RMT2/RLT2/RXT2 series are wall-mount tilting display mounts for flat-panel TVs and monitors, supporting a kickstand-style installation with adjustable tilt. RMT2 and RLT2 support up to 125 lbs (56.7 kg); RXT2 supports up to 175 lbs (79.4 kg).

    Compatible Wall Types

Designed to be mounted to 8" concrete, 8"x8"x16" concrete block, clay brick, or 2"x4" wood studs. Not for outdoor use.

    Weight Capacity by Model

Model Max Weight Max Tilt Min Mounting Hole Pattern
    RMT2 125 lbs (56.7 kg) 12° 100mm x 100mm
    RLT2 125 lbs (56.7 kg) 12° 100mm x 100mm

    Safety Warnings

    • Structural strength: The wall structure must support 5x the combined weight of all attached equipment. Reinforce as needed. Wall drywall thickness must not exceed 5/8" (1.6cm), and drywall anchors must not be installed into seams between drywall pieces.
    • Electrical shock hazard: Always verify the area behind the mounting surface is free of electrical wires/cables before drilling or installing fasteners.
    • Explosion/fire hazard: Always verify the area is free of gas, water, waste, or other plumbing before cutting or drilling.
    • Never operate the mount if damaged — return to a service center for examination and repair.
    • For indoor use only.

    Tools Required

    • 7/32" (5.5mm) and 5/16" (7.9mm) drill bits
    • 1/2" (12.7mm) wrench
    • #2 Phillips screwdriver

    Installation Overview

    1. Install Wall Plate

Wood studs: RMT2 requires two 16" studs. RLT2 supports 16" (inner holes) or 24" studs (outer holes). RXT2 supports two/three 16" studs or two 24" studs (all studs must be 2"x4"). Level the wall plate, mark and drill 7/32" (5.5mm) pilot holes, then secure with 5/16 x 2-1/2" hex head cap screws through flat washers into the studs.

Concrete/block/brick: Level and mark pilot hole locations, drill 5/16" (8mm) holes at least 3-1/4" deep, tap in concrete anchors flush with the wall, then secure with screws/washers using a 1/2" wrench.

    2. Install Brackets to Display

    1. Lay the display face-down on a protective surface.
    2. Select the correct screw diameter (4mm/5mm/6mm/8mm) by comparing hardware to the display's mounting holes.
    3. Select spacers if mounting holes are recessed or brackets can't lay flat against the display.
    4. Select the shortest screw length that provides adequate thread engagement (screw head should protrude above the washer by at least the screw diameter).
    5. Position brackets with upper hooks toward the top of the display and centered as close to the display's back-center as possible (marked by the diamond-shaped hole).
    6. Install and tighten all screws through washers, brackets, and spacers into the display.

    3. Install Display to Wall Plate

    1. Pull down on the interface bracket handles to set them to the kickstand position.
    2. Hang the display with the brackets on the upper rail of the wall plate — interface brackets must be on opposite sides of the wall plate's center tab.
    3. Unlock the kickstand by pushing up on the interface brackets until the kickstand rests against the wall.
    4. Push up further on the interface brackets to lock the display into position against the wall.
    5. Tuck straps behind the display so they aren't visible.
    6. Optional: route a padlock/cable lock through the bottom holes on the interface bracket for added security.

    4. Switching Interface Brackets (Wide Hole Patterns Only)

    Model Normal Installation Swap Uprights
    RMT2 100-440mm 441-506mm
    RLT2 100-663mm 664-728.8mm
    RXT2 200-847mm 848-913mm

    5. Tilt Adjustment

    1. Adjust the tilt tension adjustment knobs to the desired tension.
    2. Pull the top of the display away from the wall until the desired tilt position is reached.
    3. Tighten the tilt tension knobs to secure the position.
