Installation instructions for Channel Vision's DP-Series door plates (DP-XXXX, DP-XXXXC, DP-XXXXP) — 1/4" solid brass telephone entry door intercom plates with optional integrated camera, available in three compatibility variants.

    Overview

Channel Vision's DP-Series are 1/4" solid brass door plates that interface with a telephone entry controller to provide communication with the front door. They're available in multiple configurations, including options for a hidden camera and compatibility with Panasonic's KSU phone systems. Each plate ships with either a DP-9001 or DP-9002 surface mount box (depending on finish color) and is also compatible with the separately-sold DP-Rbox-II flush mount box.

    Features

    • 1/4" thick solid brass plate
    • Discrete speaker and microphone
    • Fits the DP-Rbox-II flush mount box and the DP-9001/DP-9002 surface mount boxes
    • Available in 9 different finishes

    Understanding the Model Number

    Format: DP-[suffix][finish][camera] — e.g., DP-0212C.

    Compatibility Suffix

    • No suffix (e.g. DP-0212): compatible with Channel Vision telephone entry products — P-0920, P-0921, C-0920, TE110

    • "C" suffix (e.g. DP-0212C): compatible with Channel Vision's Whole-House CAT5 Intercom Hub, model P-0930

Double-check the model number matches your system before purchasing/installing.

Assembly: DP-XXXX and DP-XXXXP (Attaching the Companion Board)

This intercom consists of two sub-assemblies — the electronic "Companion Board" and the mechanical "Door Plate" — which must be joined before final installation.

    1. Remove the plastic cap covering the microphone compartment on the door plate.
    2. Place the microphone in the compartment and replace the cap (it friction-fits over the mic wires, holding them snug until they exit at the base).
    3. Remove the mounting screws already attached to the bracket and use them to attach the Companion Board to the front side of the bracket (screws pass through the board before threading into the bracket).
    4. Attach the button and speaker wires as shown in the diagrams.
    5. The finished sub-assembly has a connection point for the Telephone Entry Controller.

    Attaching the Camera (DP-5xxx / DP-5xxxP / DP-6xxx / DP-6xxxP)

    1. Break away the perforated metal screen covering the camera opening by pushing a screwdriver through the front slot near the top or bottom until the tabs release.
    2. Attach the mini pinhole camera to the integrated mount so the cone lens points through the opening.
    3. Adjust the camera position and secure with the mount's screw.
    4. Attach the pigtail to the rear of the camera, then connect to power supply and video distribution system.

Assembly: DP-XXXXC (Attaching the Companion Board)

    1. Position the Companion Board onto the three mounting tabs so the back-mounted microphone lines up with the microphone tube on the bracket.
    2. Bend the mounting tabs over to secure the board.
    3. Connect speaker and button wires by sliding the small connector over the exposed pins on the Companion Board.
    4. The finished sub-assembly connects to the Intercom Hub.

Camera attachment for DP-5xxxC / DP-6xxxC follows the same steps as above (break away the screen section, mount the camera, attach the pigtail, connect power/video).

    Installation by System Type

    Channel Vision Compatible (DP-xxxx)

DP-0xxx ships without a camera; DP-5xxx includes a black & white camera, DP-6xxx a color camera. All interface with Channel Vision telephone entry controllers: TE110, C-0920, P-0920, and P-0921.

    • Install a compatible mounting box (DP-Rbox-II flush, or DP-9001/DP-9002 surface).
    • Using 2-conductor wire, connect the Telephone Entry Controller to the empty screw terminal block marked "TO SYS" on the DP plate.
    • If a camera is present, attach its video output to a coax extension (not included) reaching your monitor/video distribution equipment.
    • Extend the power supply if needed by cutting the connector and splicing with crimp-on connectors.

    Panasonic® Compatible (DP-xxxxP)

A compatible replacement for the Panasonic KXT-30865 plastic door station. Interfaces with Panasonic KSU phone systems. DP-6xxxP includes a color camera, DP-5xxxP a black & white camera, DP-0xxxP no camera.

    • Install a compatible mounting box (DP-Rbox-II, DP-9001, or DP-9002).
    • Using 2-conductor wire, connect the door phone output of your Panasonic KSU to the empty screw terminal block marked "TO SYS" on the DP.
    • Consult your Panasonic manual for door phone operation details.
    • Extend camera video/power as needed.

Channel Vision CAT5 Intercom Compatible (DP-xxxxC)

Connects to Channel Vision's CAT5 Whole-House Intercom system (P-0930 Hub, ST-2000 stations). Pressing the button on the DP-xxxxC triggers a door chime at the ST-2000 stations; pressing Answer/End opens two-way communication. DP-6xxxC includes a color camera, DP-5xxxC a black & white camera, DP-0xxxC no camera. The DP terminals can also connect a C5IDS Door Strike Relay Module. Maximum CAT5 run: 500 ft.

    • Install a compatible mounting box (DP-Rbox-II, DP-9001, or DP-9002).
    • Using CAT5 wire, connect the P-0930 to the 110 connector on the DP.
    • Extend camera video/power as needed.
