    Overview

    The Microblok 1.5 continues Carver's tradition of compact, high-output amplifier design. Its precision, all-metal case functions as an integrated heat-sink, keeping the amp cool even under demanding video-soundtrack playback. Complementary, precision-matched bipolar output devices are configured for no-compromise low-frequency performance normally associated with larger amplifiers, using four separate amplifiers in dual-bridged mode (rather than the usual two) for greater output power and headroom at lower standby power. An on-board electronic surge protection system guards against high-voltage spikes.

    Applications

    • Desktop high-end listening — pair with quality mini-monitors for high-end PC audio instead of "multimedia" speakers.
    • iPod / media player amplification — drive a favorite pair of mini-speakers from a portable media player for a great-sounding compact system.
    • Single-zone home theater — pair with two in-wall or ceiling speakers around a flat-screen TV; run audio output from the TV or a local disc player/media box into the amplifier for an instant personal theater.
    • Audiophile listening on-the-go — the 13VDC design is compatible with car and boat DC electrical systems out of the box; works well with outdoor speakers for a portable/mobile audio system.
