    Technical information and installation guide for the Bellman Visit Telephone Transmitter (model BE1123) — an indoor transmitter within the Bellman Visit System that recognizes ring signals from an analogue telephone line via a plug inserted into the telephone socket. It can also act as a multifunction transmitter via a pushbutton or two external trigger connectors.

    Function

    When activated — by an incoming call, the pushbutton, or an external trigger — a signal is transmitted via radio to receivers in the Bellman Visit System. Connection methods include:

    • Via the modular connector to the telephone socket
    • With a pushbutton
    • Via an external trigger (connected via the 3.5mm jack socket or the internal connection box) — compatible accessories include the BE9023 Magnetic Switch and BE9024 Door Entering Contact Mat, or any common pushbutton or equipment producing a contact or voltage for activation

    Note: a modified version, the BE1320, can be connected to a VMA alarm.

    Installation and Connection

    The unit is generally mounted on the wall using the factory-fitted self-adhesive Velcro tape, or with the included wall bracket and screw. The unit connects to the Bellman Visit System by radio — see Settings below. When used with an accessory, the telephone cord can be removed; the modular connection box is located beneath the battery cover.

    Testing

    1. Tune the Bellman Visit receiver to the same channel as the Telephone Transmitter.
    2. Press the test button — the green LED lights up.
    3. The receiver indicates the alarm to which the Telephone Transmitter is tuned.

    To test the transducer from the telephone line itself, connect the Telephone Transmitter via the input to an analogue telephone socket, then ring the number from a mobile phone or other telephone. It responds the same way as when tested with the pushbutton.

    Indicators

    When the green LED lights, the unit is transmitting a radio signal. If the LED lights with a weak green glow on activation, the battery needs to be changed — only use alkaline or lithium batteries.

    Settings — Changing the Radio Channel

    All Bellman Visit System units ship from the factory tuned to channel 0 (all radio channel switches set to "off"). To change the channel, move the channel switches to the desired position. All Bellman Visit products within the same system must be tuned to the same channel to operate as a group — the one exception is the Bellman Visit Fire Alarm Transmitter, which has no adjustable channels and will always trigger the receiver regardless of channel.

    Tone/Signal Functions

    The tone switch adjustment determines the sound, LED color, and vibration pattern signaled by the receiver when activated:

    Troubleshooting

    Problem Solution
    Test lamp lights weakly or not at all when the telephone rings. Change the battery in the Telephone Transmitter. Dispose of used batteries at a collection point per national regulations.
    Receiver does not signal when the telephone rings. 1) Check whether the receiver battery needs changing. 2) Confirm the receiver is tuned to the same radio channel as the Telephone Transmitter. 3) Try the Telephone Transmitter in a different telephone socket.
