    Quick start guide for setting up the AprilAire S86WMUPR Wi-Fi Thermostat with the AprilAire Wi-Fi Thermostat app on iOS or Android.

    1. Download the App

    Search for and install the AprilAire Wi-Fi Thermostat App from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).

    2. Create a New AprilAire Account

    1. Open the app on your device.
    2. Tap Create Account.
    3. Enter a valid email address, choose a password, and tap Create Account.
    4. Fill in your personal information and tap Continue.
    5. Enter your ZIP or postal code and select a world time zone — this ensures access to local weather data and correct thermostat time.

    3. Connect Your Wi-Fi Thermostat to Your Home Network

    1. Select Add a Device.
    2. Select the thermostat model.
    3. Follow the on-screen directions to prepare the thermostat.
    4. The thermostat screen displays its own Wi-Fi network info (SSID includes "AprilAire" plus a unique ID, plus an 8-digit password).
    5. On the thermostat, select Open Network Settings to open the AprilAire settings screen.
    6. On your phone, find the Wi-Fi network with "AprilAire" in the title in your list of network options, and tap it to connect to the thermostat.
    7. Enter the 8-digit password shown on the thermostat screen.
    8. Important: select OK to continue (on iOS) — on Android, if prompted about staying connected to this network, select Yes.
    9. Return to the AprilAire app. Note: this step can take up to a minute to complete.

    4. Select Your Home Network

    Select your home Wi-Fi network from the list shown in the app.

    5. Connect to Your Home Network

    1. Select "show password" and enter your home Wi-Fi password (recommended, to confirm accuracy).
    2. Tap Continue.
    3. Tap Select Location.
    4. Select Home as the default location, or enter a custom location name.
    5. Assign the new device to a room, or enter a custom room name.
    6. Once registered, tap the tile to open the thermostat control screen.
    7. You can now access and control your thermostat from your mobile device.
