Installation

Alfred partners with the mobile app BILT to provide step-by-step visual installation instructions on your phone. Download BILT from the Apple App Store or Google Play and search "Alfred" for guided installation of the latch and handing switch.

Top Post

Your DB2 lock may include a 3rd top post in the box, provided for extra security or to compensate for door defects where the door face isn't perfectly straight. This 3rd top post can be removed with pliers if not needed or if you don't want to drill additional holes. Refer to the BILT installation videos or included instruction manual for details.

Alfred Home App

Controlling and programming your Alfred lock is simplest with the Alfred Home App, available on iOS and Android. Download it to quickly add, set up, and program your new lock and accessories.

Quick Start Guide

Step 1 — Download the App

Download the Alfred Home app to quickly add, set up, and program your new Alfred lock and accessories. For manual setup, follow Steps 2 and 3 below.

Step 2 — Change the Default Master PIN Code

1. Touch the screen with your hand to activate.
2. Enter "*" twice, then the 8-digit default Master PIN Code (12345678), followed by "#".
3. Enter "1" to change the Master PIN code.
4. Enter a new 4-10 digit Master PIN code followed by "#".
5. Repeat step 4 once more to confirm.

The Master PIN Code must be changed before any further programming can begin.

Step 3 — Add a User PIN Code

1. Touch the screen with your hand to activate.
2. Enter "*" twice and the Master PIN code, followed by "#". (Lock response: digits 1-8 on the keypad light up.)
3. Enter "2". (Lock response: all keys on the keypad light up.)
4. Enter the User Number to be registered (00-19) followed by "#".
5. Enter the new User PIN code followed by "#".
6. Repeat step 5 to confirm the PIN code.
7. To add more users, repeat steps 4-6.

Simple PIN Code rule — for security, Master and User PIN codes cannot:

• Use consecutive numbers (e.g. 123456 or 654321).
• Use duplicated numbers (e.g. 111111 or 222222).
• Include, or be included within, another existing PIN code.

Lock / Unlock

To lock: Press and hold any key on the keypad for 1 second. You can also lock from inside by pressing the inside multi-function button, or turning the thumbturn toward the door edge.

To unlock: Place your palm over the lock to wake up the keypad. Input your User PIN code or Master PIN code and press "#" to confirm. You can also unlock from inside by turning the thumbturn away from the door edge.
