  • ABB-Welcome M2300 — System Controller Manual

    September 08, 2026 2 min read

Product manual for the ABB-Welcome M2300 System Controller — DIN-rail-mount central controller for the ABB-Welcome door communication system.

    Full text manual (for reference)

    Overview

The ABB-Welcome M2300 System Controller is a DIN-rail-mount module that forms the central control point for an ABB-Welcome door communication system. It operates exclusively with components from the ABB-Welcome system and connects to the system bus, supplying bus power and coordinating call routing (One-on / All-on modes) between Outdoor Stations, Indoor Stations, and other system devices.

    Safety

    • Electric voltage warning: risk of death and fire from 100–240V. Work on the 100–240V supply system may only be performed by authorised electricians. Disconnect mains power before installation or disassembly.
    • Low-voltage and 100–240V cables must never be installed together in a flush-mounted socket box — a short circuit could put a 100–240V load on the low-voltage line.

    Intended Use

The M2300 must only be installed on mounting rails per DIN EN 500022, as an integral part of the ABB-Welcome door communication system.

    Control Elements

    No. Function
    1 Bus in/out
    2 Operating mode settings (One-on / All-on — see below)
3 Operating status LED — indicates Ready for operation vs. Fault
    4 Power supply (100–240V, L/N terminals)

    Operating Modes

    • One on: on an incoming call, all Indoor Stations in the same apartment ring together, but only the master (primary) Indoor Station switches on its screen automatically.
    • All on: on an incoming call, all Indoor Stations in the apartment ring AND switch on their screens simultaneously.

    Storage temperature -40°C to +70°C
    Protection rating IP20
    Wire clamps 2 x 0.28 mm² – 2 x 1 mm² (single- and fine-wire)
    Mains voltage 100–240V, 50/60 Hz, 1.0A
    Bus voltage 28 ± 2 VDC, 1.2A
Size 8U (DIN rail module width)

    Installation

Required electrician qualifications: apply the "five safety rules" (DIN VDE 0105, EN 50110) — disconnect from power, secure against reconnection, verify no voltage present, connect to earth, and cover/barricade adjacent live parts. Use suitable protective clothing and tools, and verify the supply network type (TN/IT/TT) to confirm proper grounding.

    General Wiring Rules

    • Terminate all wiring branches via a connected bus device (indoor station, outdoor station, or other system device).
    • Do not install the system controller directly next to the bell transformer or other power supplies (interference risk).
    • Do not run system bus wiring together with 100–240V wiring.
    • Do not share cabling between door opener wiring and the system bus.
    • Avoid bridging different cable types; use only two wires for the system bus in multi-core cable.
    • Never route incoming/outgoing bus, or internal/external bus, inside the same cable.
    • The M2300 must be mounted on DIN rails per DIN EN 500022.
