    Mounting / Installation

    Requirements for the Electrician

WARNING — Electric voltage! Install the device only if you have the necessary electrical engineering knowledge and experience. Incorrect installation endangers life and can cause serious property damage (e.g., fire). Apply the "five safety rules" (DIN VDE 0105, EN 50110): disconnect from power; secure against being re-connected; ensure there is no voltage; connect to earth; cover or barricade adjacent live parts. Use suitable personal protective clothing and only suitable tools/measuring devices. Check the type of supply network (TN, IT, TT system) to confirm proper power supply conditions.

    General Installation Instructions

    • Terminate all branches of the wiring system via a connected bus device (e.g., indoor station, outdoor station, system device).
    • Do not install the system controller directly next to the bell transformer or other power supplies (to avoid interference).
    • Do not install system bus wires together with 100-240V wires.
    • Do not use common cables for door opener wires and system bus wires.
    • Avoid bridges between different cable types.
    • Use only two wires for the system bus in a four-core or multi-core cable.
    • Never install incoming and outgoing bus, or internal and external bus, inside the same cable when looping.

    Mounting

    1. Dismantling: pull the clamp on the bottom of the device, then open the housing of the panel.
    2. The bottom of the device has screw holes for wall-fastening, or it can be fixed to an existing flush-mounted box.
    3. Wiring: fix the bottom of the device and connect per the wiring diagram. The insulated section of the cable end must not be longer than 10mm.
    4. Settings: set addresses of the preferred outdoor stations and the indoor station address on the jumper (see "Adjusting the Device" section).
    5. Mounted on the wall: fix the bottom of the device to the wall, then latch the upper part onto the bottom — place the upper side on the lock-in lugs and press the bottom side until it's caught by the clamp.
    6. Mounted with flush-mounted box: fix the bottom of the device to the existing flush-mounted box, then latch the upper part onto the bottom the same way.

    Adjusting the Device

The device has jumpers/switches for: (1) Station Selector — sets the address of the default outdoor station; (2) X10/X1 selector switches — set the tens/units address digits of the indoor station (X100/X200), configured via the "Light" button; (3) Master/Slave function — only one indoor station per apartment should be set as "Master" (M/S on); all additional indoor stations in the same apartment must be set as "Slave" (M/S off); (4) Terminal resistor — set to "RC on" on the last device of the line in video or mixed audio/video installations; (5) a/b bus connection and door bell connection terminals.

    Environment

Used electric and electronic devices must not be disposed of with domestic waste — the device contains valuable raw materials that can be recycled. Dispose of it at an appropriate collecting depot. ABB products meet EU-Directive 2002/96/EG (WEEE), 2002/95/EG (RoHS), and EU-REACH ordinance requirements.
