Installation and pairing instructions for the 2GIG-TS1 Touch Screen Wireless Keypad — a remote control device that extends full 2GIG Control Panel functionality (lights, thermostat, door locks, zone status) to other locations in the home.

Overview

The 2GIG-TS1 exchanges information through a secure 2-way wireless connection with the Control Panel, using the same familiar interface found on the Control Panel itself. It is designed for indoor use only and is not for UL 985 installations. The keypad is powered from a plug-in power supply and communicates via a 900 MHz Transceiver (2GIG-XCVR2), which must already be installed in the Control Panel before pairing.

Before You Begin

• Confirm the 900 MHz Transceiver (2GIG-XCVR2) is installed in the Control Panel — without it, the Control Panel cannot communicate with the 2GIG-TS1.
• Confirm whether the 2GIG-TS1 is already paired with the Control Panel (check the display on power-up).

Mounting Tools Needed

Preparing and Mounting the Keypad

1. Remove the screw and flip open the back cover of the 2GIG-TS1; disconnect the hanging strap; use the back cover as the mounting plate template.
2. Confirm the keypad is functioning before selecting a final wall location. Make sure AC power is available nearby, and watch for studs, electrical wires, and pipes in the wall.
3. Use the back cover as a template to mark screw holes and the power access hole with a pencil, then cut the wiring hole with a drywall saw.
4. Attach the mounting plate to the wall using the 3 supplied screws and anchors.
5. Route 18 AWG wire between the keypad and the power supply location.

Wire Size and Maximum Length

Measure the voltage between the power connection terminals at the back of the control panel — it must not fall below 11 volts DC, or nuisance "AC Power Loss" messages may be reported. Wiring routed inside walls, ceilings, and floors must comply with National Electrical Code (ANSI/NFPA 70) and local building codes. Wiring from the 2GIG class II power supply should be rated CL2, CL2X, CL2R, or PLTC (CL2P if routed through an air plenum).

Connect the power wires to the keypad using #6 insulated spade terminals (not supplied): Left Terminal = 14 VDC (+), Right Terminal = 14 VDC (−), using 18 AWG/2-conductor wire.

Learning/Pairing the Keypad with the Control Panel

1. Confirm the Control Panel has power via the supplied AC adapter.
2. Confirm the 2GIG-TS1 has power from its AC transformer, connected with correct polarity.
3. From the Control Panel's Installer Toolbox, select System Configuration, then the Go To button, and enter 04 to reach Question 4.
4. Select the RF Keypad number (1–4) to assign to the 2GIG-TS1, then press the down arrow to configure specific parameters.
5. Press the right arrow or the number 1 to toggle the setting to "used," then continue.
6. Set the RF Keypad Equipment Code to 1059 ("2GIG-TS1 wireless touchscreen keypad").
7. Learn the 2GIG-TS1 into the Control Panel: at the Control Panel press the Learn button; at the 2GIG-TS1 press Pair with Panel. Both devices display "The learn operation succeeded" when complete.
8. Press OK on both devices to complete the learning process, then exit the learning menu with the down arrow.
9. Repeat for additional TS1 keypads if needed.
10. To exit programming: click Skip, then End and Exit. The Control Panel takes several seconds to reboot.

Removing a 2GIG-TS1 (Unlearning)

1. From the Control Panel, go to Installer Toolbox / System Configuration.
2. Select Go To and enter 04 to reach Q4: select RF keypad # (1–4). Select the configured 2GIG-TS1 to remove and press the down arrow.
3. Mark the RF Keypad number as "unused" by pressing the right arrow.
4. Exit programming: click Skip, then End and Exit. The panel takes several seconds to reboot.

Resetting the 2GIG-TS1 to Factory Defaults

While power cycling the 2GIG-TS1, hold both the Emergency and Home buttons simultaneously until they light up (approximately 20 seconds). The keypad will display "This Device is Not Paired with a Control Panel."

Secret Duress Button

Pressing the logo on the bottom corner of the Home Screen allows entry of the duress code only — it does not access the Installer Toolbox (which can only be accessed from the Control Panel itself). Note: there is a default master code of 1111, but no default duress code.

Firmware Version Matching

The 2GIG-TS1 and Control Panel must have matching firmware versions to fully communicate (e.g. CP v1.10 and 2GIG-TS1 v1.10). From both devices' Home Screens, choose Security / Menu / Toolbox, then use the arrow to navigate to the Version Screen and compare.

Regulatory / FCC Notice

This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the condition that it may not cause harmful interference and must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. This equipment has been tested and found to comply with Class B Digital Device limits, providing reasonable protection against interference in a residential installation. Radio controls have limited transmitter power and range (approximately 400 ft.); a receiver cannot respond to more than one transmitted signal at a time.

Operating and Storage Temperature: Storage -10°C to 60°C (14°F to 140°F). Optimal operating temperature 0°C to 49°C (32°F to 120°F).

Limited Warranty

This 2GIG Technologies product is warranted against defects in material and workmanship for 1 year. This warranty extends only to wholesale customers who buy direct from 2GIG Technologies or through its normal distribution channels; it does not extend to consumers, who should inquire with their installing dealer.
