    Installation instructions for the 2GIG-DW20R-345 Recessed Door/Window Contact — a supervised, hidden-transmitter door/window sensor designed to be recessed inside a door or window frame, reporting to a 2GIG Control Panel.

    Overview

    The 2GIG-DW20R-345 is described as the industry's most flexible supervised recessed door/window contact, hiding the transmitter completely within the door or window frame for a clean, tamper-resistant installation. It uses a replaceable lithium battery rated for approximately 5 years under normal usage.

    Programming (Learning the Sensor into a 2GIG Control Panel)

    Scroll between options with the left/right arrows; move to the previous/next prompt with up/down arrows.

    1. Select RF sensor # (01–48) — assign the DW20R to a new zone.
    2. Select RF sensor type: (01) Entry/Exit 1, (02) Entry/Exit 2, (03) Perimeter, (23) no response type.
    3. Select RF equipment type: (1) contact.
    4. Select RF sensor equipment code — enter 0863 for the DW20R-345.
    5. Enter the RF sensor serial number (7 digits). Manual entry: type the last 7 digits of the TX ID found outside the box or on the back of the device. Auto entry: with the panel in Learn-in mode (Shift then Learn), insert the battery — the correct TX ID should appear. If not, trip the contact with the supplied magnet, then accept the TX ID with OK.
    6. Select RF sensor equipment age: (0) new, (1) existing.
    7. Select RF sensor loop number: (1) Loop 1.
    8. Select RF sensor dialer delay: (0) disabled.
    9. Construct an RF sensor voice descriptor: press Insert, then a number 002–255 to add a word (e.g. 020 = BACK, 058 = DOOR, to build "BACK DOOR").
    10. Select RF sensor reports: (0) disabled, (1) enabled.
    11. Select RF sensor supervised: (0) disabled (no loss-of-supervision/low-battery reporting), (1) enabled.
    12. Select RF sensor chime: (0) disabled, (1–13) selects a voice/chime tone on activation.
    13. Click Next to program another sensor.
    14. Click Skip, then End and Exit to finish — the panel takes several seconds to reboot.

    Testing

    Before mounting, verify RF communication from the intended location:

    1. From the Installer Toolbox, select Walk Test.
    2. Hold the magnet next to the removable cap on the sensor, then pull it away (open/close the DW20R). The Control Panel chimes and displays signal strength.
    3. Exit the Installer Toolbox.

    Installing and Mounting

    Locate sensors within 100 ft. (30 m) of the Control Panel where possible. Open-air transmitter range can exceed 450 ft. (137 m), but installation-site environment significantly affects real-world range.

    Mounting Steps

    The DW20R sensor ships with two different top styles; the screw-mount top is recommended for securing the sensor to the door frame. The magnet does not have a flanged screw-mount top, so it must be pressed tightly into place.

    1. Mark the sensor/transmitter and magnet locations on the door or window frame, ensuring the two holes line up directly across from each other.
    2. Using an 11/16" drill bit, slowly drill the first hole for the transmitter — the DW20R is sized to fit slightly larger than an 11/16" hole, so drill gradually for a snug fit. Use the flanged cap and included screws to mount the transmitter.
    3. Drill a matching hole for the magnet directly opposite the transmitter, also with an 11/16" bit.

    Inserting and Replacing the Battery

    A low-battery notification appears on the Control Panel when the sensor's battery is running low — replace it immediately with the recommended battery type.

    1. Use a small flat-head screwdriver to pry open the sensor top.
    2. Remove the circuit board (it sits in a channel inside the case) to access the battery. After replacing, reinsert the board so it fits snugly in the channel.
    3. Observe battery polarity carefully, then verify programming and RF communication with the Control Panel.

    Warning: Battery polarity must be observed as marked. Improper handling of lithium batteries may cause heat, explosion, or fire. Replace only with the same or equivalent battery type. Do not recharge, disassemble, or dispose of in fire. Dispose of used batteries per local waste/recycling regulations. Keep away from small children — if swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.
