    Installation instructions for the 2GIG-DW10-345 Thin Door/Window Contact — a wireless magnetic sensor for doors, windows, and other openings that reports to a 2GIG Control Panel.

    Overview

    The 2GIG-DW10-345 transmits signals to the Control Panel when a magnet mounted near the sensor moves away from or closer to the sensor. It includes an external input accepting N/C dry contact devices and a cover tamper for additional security.

    Programming (Learning the Sensor into a 2GIG Control Panel)

    Scroll between options with the left/right arrows; move to the previous or next prompt with up/down arrows.

    1. Select RF sensor # (01–48) — assign the DW10 to a new zone.
    2. Select RF sensor type: (01) Entry/Exit 1, (02) Entry/Exit 2, (03) Perimeter, (23) no response type.
    3. Select RF equipment type: (1) contact.
    4. Select RF sensor equipment code: enter 0862 for the DW10-345.
    5. Enter the RF sensor serial number (7 digits). Manual entry: type the last 7 digits of the TX ID found outside the box or on the back of the device. Auto entry: put the panel in Learn-in mode (Shift then Learn), pull the battery pull tab, and accept the TX ID that appears with OK.
    6. Select RF sensor equipment age: (0) new, (1) existing.
    7. Select RF sensor loop number: (1) Loop 1, (2) Wire lead Loop 2, (3) Exterior Switch (magnet only).
    8. Select RF sensor dialer delay: (0) disabled.
    9. Construct an RF sensor voice descriptor: press Insert, then a number 002–255 to add a word (e.g. 140 = MASTER, 251 = WINDOW, to build "MASTER WINDOW").
    10. Select RF sensor reports: (0) disabled, (1) enabled.
    11. Select RF sensor supervised: (0) disabled (no loss-of-supervision/low-battery reporting), (1) enabled.
    12. Select RF sensor chime: (0) disabled, (1–13) selects a voice/chime tone on activation.
    13. Click Next to program another sensor.
    14. Click Skip, then End and Exit to finish — the panel takes several seconds to reboot.

    Testing

    • Basic test: Open the contact (separate magnet from sensor). The Control Panel displays the open zone with its assigned descriptor, and the Security Button turns yellow.
    • Walk test: From the Installer Toolbox, select Walk Test, open/close the DW10 to view signal strength on the Control Panel, then exit the toolbox.

    Installing and Mounting

    • Mount the sensor on the door/window frame and the magnet on the moving part. For double doors, mount the sensor on the least-used door and the magnet on the most-used door.
    • Keep sensors within 100 ft. (30 m) of the Control Panel for reliable range, even though open-air range can exceed 350 ft. (106 m).
    • Align the magnet's arrow with the alignment mark on the sensor.
    • Mount at least 4.7 in. (12 cm) above the floor.
    • Avoid moisture and temperatures outside 32–120°F (0–49°C).
    • Use spacers to keep the sensor/magnet away from metal or metallic surfaces (e.g. foil wallpaper); avoid areas with heavy metal or electrical wiring, like furnace/utility rooms.
    • Secure the sensor base with the included screws; mount the magnet no more than 0.4 in. (1 cm) from the sensor, aligned with the arrow, and secured with adhesive.
    • External input use: drill an access hole if needed, plug the two-pin connector into J1, and connect the wire to an N/C dry contact device.

    Battery Replacement

    1. Press the tab on the end of the case to release the cover clip.
    2. Use a small flathead screwdriver in the slot between the metal clip and battery, twisting gently while holding back the plastic edge.
    3. Insert the replacement battery with the + sign facing out.
    4. Verify programming and RF communication with the Control Panel.

    Warning: Observe battery polarity as shown. Improper handling of lithium batteries may cause heat, explosion, or fire. Replace only with the same or equivalent battery type. Do not recharge, disassemble, or dispose of in fire. Dispose per local waste/recycling regulations. Keep away from small children; seek medical attention if swallowed.
