Quick installation guide for the Zipato Door/Window Sensor (NE-NAS-DS01Z), a battery-powered Z-Wave Plus sensor that monitors door/window open/close status.
This sensor is a Z-Wave Plus enabled device (two-way RF mesh networking) fully compatible with any Z-Wave enabled network/controller, not just Zipato's own gateways. It monitors a door or window and sends a Z-Wave signal when opened or closed, and can associate with other devices (like a wall plug, siren, or lamp module) through the Z-Wave gateway to automate responses. This is a security-enabled Z-Wave product using encrypted messages — a security-enabled controller is recommended for full functionality.

Disassemble the door sensor main body and take out the battery. Fix the main body on the door with screws. Disassemble the deputy (magnet) body and fix it on the corresponding doorframe position.
Put the included sticker on the bottom of the door sensor, then fix it on the wall/frame surface.
Note: The deputy (magnet) body must be installed on the bulge side of the main body. When the door is closed, the gap between main body and deputy body must be less than 2cm for the app to correctly register "closed" status; when open, the gap must exceed 2cm to register "open."
This deletes all Z-Wave network information and restores factory defaults.
Use this procedure only if the primary controller is missing or inoperable; keep the sensor powered throughout the process.
This sensor supports 4 association groups (Association Command Class Version 2), each supporting up to 5 associated devices:
Battery life is approximately 1 year. Battery level (0-100%) can be queried via BATTERY GET command; a value of 0xFF indicates dead battery. The sensor stays dormant most of the time to conserve battery, waking on a configurable interval (minimum 300s/5 min, maximum ~194 days, adjustable in 60-second steps). Default wakeup interval is 12 hours — a larger value extends battery life.
