Quick installation guide for the Zipato Bulb 2 (RGBW2.ZBE26/RGBW2.ZBE27), a ZigBee-enabled color-changing LED bulb.

Overview

Zipato Bulb 2 has 5 color channels: Red, Green, Blue, Warm White, and Cold White. It can be used to add color to your home or as a general white-tone light in any color temperature you desire. Using a Zipatile, Zipabox, or other ZigBee home controller, you can control the bulb from anywhere in the world via smartphone (iOS or Android), and automatically set colors to indicate events using the Zipato rule creator.

Line Voltage Dimmer Compatibility

Zipato does not recommend using a line-voltage dimmer with this bulb — reducing/removing power through a line-voltage dimmer can cause the bulb's internal radio to malfunction. For dimming, use a compatible ZigBee controller and app (e.g. Zipato's Android/iOS app) or a compatible wireless switch using the same wireless protocol as the bulb.

Installation

1. Screw the Zipato Bulb 2 into the socket.
2. Activate inclusion mode on your ZigBee controller.
3. Turn ON your wall switch.
4. The inclusion process starts automatically.

Note: If your switch/fixture is OFF, control and communication between the app or wireless switch and the bulb is lost.

Device Inclusion / Exclusion

1. Screw the bulb into the socket.
2. Apply power via the wall switch (or your alternate power method).
3. Activate inclusion mode on your ZigBee controller/gateway (or via its associated app, if supported).
4. Toggle the wall switch from OFF to ON (or use your alternate power-toggle method).
5. The bulb flashes once to confirm it has been successfully included/excluded from the network.

If using a 3rd-party ZigBee controller/gateway, refer to that manufacturer's instructions for adding devices to the network.

Factory Reset Procedure

Physically switch the bulb on and off six (6) times, each interval lasting 0.5-2 seconds. After the 6th cycle, the bulb flashes twice to confirm a successful reset.

Bulb Status Flash Modes

• Factory Reset / Reset Mode: Flashes twice when powered on in reset/factory mode.
• Inclusion Mode: Flashes once when successfully included into the network.
• Exclusion Mode: Flashes once, then dims to 5% when excluded from the network. Re-power the bulb and repeat the inclusion process to re-include it.
