Overview

Zipabox is a modular smart home controller (Zipabox Smart Home Controller 1) that mounts on a DIN rail alongside compatible expansion modules — including the Power Module and Backup (battery) module covered in this manual. It is designed to be extended over time with additional Z-Wave devices and modules from the Zipato ecosystem.

• Complies with EMC Directive (2004/108/EC), Low Voltage Directive (2006/95/EC), and R&TTE Directive (1999/5/EC)
• Tested to EN 61326, EN 61000 series (immunity/EMC), EN 300 220-2, IEC/EN 55011, and related harmonized EU standards
• Complies with FCC Part 15 (Class B digital device) and Industry Canada license-exempt RSS standards

Safety & Handling

• Risk of electrocution — all wiring work should be performed only by trained and skilled electricians per local electrical code.
• The device has no basic insulation and must be installed to protect against accidental contact.
• Only insulated tools should be used when working on connected devices.
• Do not expose to excessive heat, moisture, or long-term direct sunlight; do not clean with liquids.

Warranty

Zipabox and its expansion modules carry a 1-year Limited Product Warranty from Tri Plus Grupa d.o.o. (Zipato's manufacturer, based in Zagreb, Croatia), covering material defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. The warranty does not cover damage from unauthorized modification, misuse, improper handling, or acts of nature, and does not apply if serial numbers have been removed or defaced. Warranty service is performed at an Authorized Zipato Service Centre; replacement parts may be new or refurbished equivalents.
