Yale iM1 Network Module for Yale Assure Lock — Quick Start Guide

Quick Start Guide for the Yale iM1 Network Module used with a Yale Assure Lock — enables Apple HomeKit control (via the Home app or Siri) alongside the Yale Secure app.

Overview

The Yale iM1 Network Module is a plug-in accessory that installs inside the battery compartment of a Yale Assure Lock, adding Apple HomeKit connectivity so the lock can be controlled through the Home app or Siri voice commands, in addition to the Yale Secure app.

Setup Steps

Step 1 — Download the App

Install the free Yale Secure app from the App Store. Compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch running iOS 10.3 or later. Create your account after installing.

Step 2 — Turn on Bluetooth

Ensure Bluetooth is turned on for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch (via device Settings).

Step 3 — Install the Yale iM1 Network Module

After your Yale lock has been successfully installed and your master PIN code created (follow the instructions packaged with the lock):

• Remove the lock's battery cover and batteries.
• Insert the Yale iM1 Network Module into the slot above the battery compartment. The module's visible pins should be located at the bottom-right corner when inserted.
• Reinstall the batteries and battery cover, then tighten the screw to replace the cover.

Step 3 (continued) — Enroll the Yale iM1 Network Module

• Wake the keypad by touching it with three fingers.
• Enter your master PIN code, followed by the gear key.
• Tap 7, followed by the gear key.
• Tap 1, followed by the gear key.

The module is now successfully enrolled.

Step 4 — Create Your Home

If you already have a home created in the app, skip this step. Otherwise, while holding your phone close to your Yale lock, open the Yale Secure app, agree to allow access to your home data, tap the + icon in the top right corner to add a new home, enter your home name, and tap "Add Home."

Step 5 — Add Your Yale Lock to Your Home

Tap the + icon next to your home name. The app searches for your Yale lock — tap it when it appears. You'll be asked to scan your Accessory Setup Code, located on the back of your iM1 Installation and Programming Instructions (also printed on the module itself). You can also enter the code manually. Once added, you'll be prompted to rename your lock.

Step 6 — Customize Your Lock

Within the lock settings you can customize Auto Relock, Language, One-Touch Locking, Operation Mode, and more. You can also rename your lock at any time — this name is used when locking/unlocking with Siri (e.g. a lock named "Front Door" lets you say "Siri, unlock my front door").
