    Full text manual (for reference)

Setup and operating instructions for the X10 WS469 Single & 3-Way Relay Wall Switch with LED (companion switch model CS277), controlling lighting and appliances up to 10A/1000W from a standard wall switch location or any X10 controller.

    Overview

    • Model: WS469 (Master switch) — pairs with CS277 (Companion switch, sold separately) for 3-way applications
    • Controls lighting/appliances up to 10A / 1000W
    • Push-button on each switch for local on/off control
    • Faint status LED: ON when the switch is in the OFF state, OFF when the switch is ON — helps locate the switch in the dark without being disruptive
    • Warning: A Neutral connection (not Ground) is required for the WS469 Master Switch.

Installing the WS469 (Single Switch Application)

    1. Disconnect power at the circuit breaker panel.
    2. Remove the wall plate and unscrew the existing switch from its box.
    3. Remove the two wires from the existing switch and connect them to the WS469's black and blue wires using the supplied wire nuts.
    4. Connect the WS469's White wire to Neutral (NOT Ground).
    5. Cap off the unused red wire with a wire nut. Ensure no bare wire strands are exposed — use insulating tape over wire nuts if needed. Screw the switch into the wall box, but don't replace the wall plate yet.

    Installing the WS469 + CS277 (3-Way Application)

    1. Disconnect power at the circuit breaker panel.
    2. Remove wall plates and unscrew both existing switches. Identify the common wire at each switch (usually on a differently colored terminal).
    3. Replace one existing switch with the WS469 (Master): connect the common wire to the WS469's black wire. Connect the two remaining traveler wires to the WS469's red and blue wires — if one traveler is red, connect it to the WS469's red wire.
    4. Connect the WS469's White wire to Neutral (NOT Ground).
    5. Replace the other existing switch with the CS277 (Companion, sold separately): connect the common wire to one of the CS277's blue wires. Connect the traveler wired to WS469's red wire to the CS277's red wire. Connect the remaining traveler to the CS277's second blue wire.
    6. Screw both switches into their wall boxes, but don't replace the wall plates yet.

    Setting Up & Operating

    1. Using a small screwdriver, set the House Code dial to the same letter (A–P) used on your X10 controller(s).
    2. Set the Unit Code dial to an unused code (1–16) controllable from any X10 controller.
    3. Refit both wall plates.
    4. Restore power at the circuit breaker panel.
    5. Press the button to turn the module on and off — the LED lights when OFF and turns off when ON.
    6. The switch can now also be operated from any X10 controller using the House and Unit Code you set.
