X10 CR14A — ScanPad Remote Owner's Manual

Owner's manual for the X10 CR14A ScanPad Remote — a wireless remote control used with X10 Ninja Pan 'n Tilt camera bases to move an XCam2 camera and recall stored positions.

Overview

The CR14A Remote lets you move the position of an XCam2 camera (mounted on a Ninja Pan 'n Tilt Base) left/right (pan) and up/down (tilt). It can store 4 positions per camera and sweep between them automatically. Requires 4 AAA alkaline batteries (sold separately).

Setup

1. Install 4 AAA alkaline batteries in the remote's battery compartment.
2. Use a dime to set the remote's House Code dial to the same code as your camera's power supply.

Single Camera Operation

• Press a left/right BLUE button to pan the camera; press an up/down BLUE button to tilt it.
• Buttons P1–P4 store four position presets for the camera.

Storing a Position

1. Use the BLUE buttons to scan the camera to the desired position.
2. Move the switch at the bottom from Normal to Program.
3. Press P1, P2, P3, or P4 to store that position to the corresponding button.
4. Move the switch back to Normal after storing all desired positions.

Recalling Positions

• With the switch set to Normal, press P1–P4 to move to any stored position.
• Press Center to center the camera.
• Press Sweep to sweep through all 4 stored positions in sequence.
• Press any BLUE key while the camera is moving to stop the movement.

Clearing All Stored Positions

Move the switch at the bottom to Program, press Center, then move the switch back to Normal.

Turning the Camera Off

Unplug its power supply. For multi-camera systems, a Transceiver (RR501 or TM751) is required to power cameras on/off remotely.

Multi-Camera Operation

If you own multiple Pan 'n Tilt cameras and a Transceiver (RR501 or TM751), the Remote lets you switch between up to 4 cameras or scan through them in sequence, displaying each camera's image on your TV in turn:

• Connect each camera (up to 4) to its own Ninja Base, plugged into its own Addressable Power Supply.
• Set each camera's power supply to a different number in the range 1–4, 5–8, 9–12, or 13–16.
• Press C1, C2, C3, or C4 to select the camera to control, then use the standard buttons as in single-camera operation.
• The SCAN button steps forward/backward through the cameras; hold it to auto-step every 6 seconds.
