    The Temperature@lert WiFi Edition (Model TM-WIFI330) is a standalone environmental monitoring device that watches up to 4 temperature/humidity sensors and sends email alerts when readings fall outside your set thresholds.

    Overview

    The WiFi330 continuously measures conditions from connected sensors and alerts you by email if readings go out of range — with an optional cloud service (Sensor Cloud) adding phone-call notifications, alarm escalation, missed-report alerts, and online history archiving. The unit has no built-in sensors; 1–4 external probes connect via its sensor jacks (up to 20 with special order).

    Jacks & Connectors

    • Sensor Jacks 1–4: Accept any TM-WIFI330 compatible sensor.
    • DC Power Jack: Accepts 9–48V power supply (2.1/6.3mm coaxial, 12VDC/1A) or PoE via a power injector (not supported on powered hubs/switches). Inserting the DC connector disconnects PoE.
    • Reboot Button: Pinhole on the bottom — press/release to restart; press and hold 10 seconds to revert to factory defaults.
    • 10/100 Ethernet "PC" Port: Wired connectivity, supports PoE via injector; used for initial setup at 10.99.99.1.
    • 10/100 Ethernet "Internet" Port: Permanent hardwire connection to your router.
    • Reserved Button: User-programmable for custom applications.

    Indicator Lights: Status (single blink = normal operation), Failure (single blink = no sensors detected). Power and Warning LEDs are reserved for future use.

    Initial Setup

    1. Connect 1–4 sensors to the side jacks.
    2. Plug in the AC adapter and wait ~60 seconds for boot-up.
    3. Connect an Ethernet cable directly between your computer and the unit (not through a router/switch for initial setup).
    4. If your PC's Ethernet adapter uses DHCP, the unit assigns it an address automatically; otherwise set a static IP on the same subnet (e.g. 10.99.99.2).
    5. Browse to http://10.99.99.1/. Default login: username admin, password password.
    6. Change the admin password immediately under the Preferences tab.

    Admin Interface Tabs

    • Status: Current sensor readings and a live graph (auto-refreshes every few minutes). XML feed and log files (Temperature, Error) are accessible from here for integration into other applications.
    • Alarm Settings: Set high/low thresholds per sensor, recipient email address(es) (comma-separated, no spaces), and connect to the optional Sensor Cloud service. Three modes: Local (device-only alarms/logging), Sensor Cloud Only, or Dual (both). Click "Reset Sensors" after adding/removing sensor types — this erases existing log data and reboots the unit.
    • Connection Settings: Configure wired Ethernet or wireless network. Initial setup must be via Ethernet; wireless can be configured afterward. Displays current WAN/LAN IP and MAC addresses. Caution: switching Ethernet to DHCP will make the unit unreachable at 10.99.99.1 — it will instead take whatever IP your router assigns.
    • Mail Settings: SMTP server, username/password, port (default 25), "Mail From" address, and daily status email recipient. Gmail SMTP is directly selectable. Requires BASIC authentication support. Use "Send Test Email" to verify.
    • SNMP Settings: Enable/disable SNMP traps, set version, server IP/port, and community string (device sends traps only — it does not respond to SNMP Get requests).
    • Preferences: Device nickname, °F/°C units, reading interval (min. 1 minute), graph plot interval, continuous vs. one-time alerts, HTTP server port (default 80), date format, time zone, NTP servers, and device password.
    • Help: Firmware version, support link, error log, network info, firmware upgrade link, and license agreement.

    Restoring Factory Defaults

    Download the firmware flashing kit from temperaturealert.com/support (Downloads section) and follow the included readme instructions.

    Operating Guidelines

    • Placement: Indoors, on a flat/level surface, or wall-mounted with user-supplied hardware.
    • External Sensor: Manage cable routing so it can't be accidentally unplugged — the unit can't monitor conditions if the sensor disconnects.
    • Log Retention: Stores up to 7 days of readings in RAM only (lost on power loss). For permanent logging, poll the XML/daily log feeds with a script, or enable the daily status email.
    • Wireless Reception: Orient the antenna vertically. Keep it connected during operation; power down before disconnecting. If signal is weak, relocate the unit, switch to wired Ethernet, or order a longer sensor cable (up to 200 ft) to allow repositioning.
    • Power: Use a UPS/battery backup — a power loss erases in-memory readings and stops alerting. Wait 10+ seconds before power-cycling.

    Troubleshooting

    • Unit won't power on: Verify wall power or PoE injector connection (powered hubs/switches aren't supported for PoE). Contact support if the power light stays off.
    • Can't connect to web admin: Connect directly to your PC's Ethernet port (not through a router/switch) for initial setup; wait ~1 minute after power-on; confirm your PC's Ethernet adapter is set to DHCP.
    • Can't send email: Confirm Internet access is configured (wired or wireless); verify DNS/Gateway settings; verify SMTP username/password; check your spam/junk folder.
    • Can't connect to WiFi: Double-check the SSID — it's case sensitive.
    • No temperature reading: Wait ~1 minute after power-on and refresh; confirm at least one sensor is connected; reseat the sensor and click "rescan" on the Alarm Settings page.
    • No humidity reading: Humidity sensors are sold separately — confirm you have the combo temp/humidity probe.
