User manual for the Telcare Telserve Data Management System — Home Use, a telemedicine accessory to blood glucose monitoring systems, covering the patient portal, messaging, and FAQ.
User manual for the Telcare Telserve Data Management System — Home Use, a telemedicine accessory to blood glucose monitoring systems. Telserve receives blood glucose (BG) readings from the Telcare Blood Glucose Meter (BGM) and provides a web-based patient portal for reviewing and tracking data.
Telserve — Home is an accessory to blood glucose monitoring systems for the review and evaluation of blood glucose test results to aid in diabetes management. It collects data from blood glucose meters such as the Telcare BGM. Telserve is not intended to provide automated treatment guidance or decisions, and is not a substitute for professional healthcare judgment.
Note: If you're outside a cellular coverage area, BG data may not transmit right away — it will be stored on the meter. Always rely on the reading shown on your meter for treatment decisions. Follow your Telcare BGM User Manual for complete directions.
Once Telserve receives your BG data, it sends a response back to your meter, displayed at the bottom of the meter's screen. If a multiple-choice question is sent, use the side buttons to respond.
The patient portal lets you view, download, and print BG data sent from your meter. It's designed for browsers supporting https:// — tested with Internet Explorer 7/8, Firefox 3.5/3.6, Safari 5.0, Apple iOS 4.2.1, and Google Android 2.2.1.
The middle section of the portal shows BG data graphs: a Reading Tag graph (7-day tagged averages) on the left, and a Trend Graph (7-day overall average, with hover-for-detail dots) on the right.
The bottom of the page shows the latest messages sent to your glucose meter. To create a printable PDF report, select a time range and click "Generate" (not supported on Google Android mobile devices).
Shows prescribed reading limits and adjustable target ranges. If upgraded to Telserve-Pro, your licensed Healthcare Professional (HCP) can adjust these options directly.
Click "My Profile" to edit and save personal information or change your password. To send your data to a third-party Personal Health Record (e.g. Google Health), click "Link It To Your Telcare Account" — requires a separate Google account.
Under "Messaging Options," select which basic informational messages are sent to your glucose meter — each can be individually enabled or disabled. If upgraded to Telserve-Pro, your licensed HCP can also adjust these settings.
Authorized Users: To invite someone to access your portal, click the "Friends" toolbar and enter their email address.
What does Telserve do? Telserve works with a Telcare BGM's built-in cellular chip, which automatically sends BG results to Telcare's secure server. The server messages the meter back with objective feedback; HCP clinical coaching (via Telserve-Pro) is also sent to the meter. All readings can be reviewed at https://mytelcare.com.
