STI-34701 — Wireless Indoor PIR Motion Detector

Instruction manual for the STI-34701 Wireless Indoor PIR Motion Detector — a wireless motion sensor with 44-ft range, 90° field of view, and 6–8 year battery life.

Overview

The STI-34701 uses an APYROFLEX™ IR sensor with Highbar™ signal processing for superior detection performance. It's mountable on flat walls or 45° corners, has cover tamper protection, and a strong, reliable RF signal to receivers.

Programming Instructions

1. Remove the cover by releasing the snap closure located at the bottom center.
2. Put the receiver in program mode (refer to receiver instructions for programming).
3. Remove the Mylar tab from the battery. The unit should immediately program into the receiver — if not, press the tamper switch.
4. Set motion sensitivity: jumper on both pins for normal sensitivity, or remove the jumper for high sensitivity.

Mounting Instructions

1. Release the holding tab and remove the PCB (see internal view for tab location).
2. Remove screw knockouts for mounting.
3. Replace the PCB, making sure the bug/insulation foam is installed.
4. Mount at 7.5 ft (ideal height) using the provided screws and optional anchors.
5. Replace the cover. The unit immediately goes into a 3-minute walk test. To reset the walk test, remove the cover and reattach it.

Walk Test LED

• LED lights for 3 minutes when motion is sensed (only during walk test).
• Wireless transmissions are sent for each detection, so the walk test can also be used to test the receiver.
• Motion sensing locks out for 20 seconds after the LED flashes.
• When complete, replace the cover fixing screw.

Operation

• After sending an alarm transmission, motion sensing locks out for 3 minutes to conserve battery life.
• The walk test LED does not activate in normal operating mode — only during a walk test.
• Tamper alert triggers when the cover is opened.
• Supervisory signal is sent every hour.
