    Quick Installation Guide for the Speco SP02TML Temperature Reading Panel with Face and Mask Recognition — a wall-mounted access terminal combining IR temperature measurement, facial/mask recognition, and access control interfaces.

    Overview — Physical Layout

    Front: display screen (5.45in wide, 11.88in tall), white fill light, infrared light, dual cameras, microphone, speaker. Left: IR temperature measurement module (1.34in). Right: Micro SD card slot, reset button, USB port. Back: 18-pin power/data interface.

    Cable Connections — 18-pin Interface

    Pin groups: pins 1–2 and 3–4 = 2-channel alarm output; pins 5–7 = lock interface; pins 8–9 = RS485; pins 10–13 = 2-channel alarm input; pins 14–16 = Wiegand interface; pins 17–18 = exit button connector.

    • Power Input: +12V (Earth/PE, GND) — minimum 1A
    • Alarm Input 1 & 2: IN1/GND, IN2/GND — connect to alarm input devices
    • Alarm Output 1 & 2: COM1/NO1, COM2/NO2 — connect to alarm output devices with external power
    • RS485: D+/D- — connect to an access control security module (RS485+/RS485-)
    • Wiegand Interface: D0/D1/GND — connect to a card reader. This terminal is a Wiegand input; if connecting to an access controller, set the Wiegand direction to "Output."
    • Lock: COM3/NO3/NC3 — connect to a magnetic lock or electric lock with its own power (anode/cathode wiring as applicable)
    • Exit Button: BUT/GND — connect to an exit button

    Note: The RS485 interface supports security module access. Once the security module is enabled, the exit button and lock control connections become invalid.

    Installation — Ambient Illumination Requirements

    • Make sure faces can be captured clearly; avoid direct sunlight and backlight.
    • Position the device at least 6.5ft away from light sources, and at least 10ft away from windows or doors (to avoid direct/indirect sunlight through windows).

    Wall Mounting Steps

    1. Paste the drill template onto the wall and drill holes according to it.
    2. Install the gang box on the wall, then secure the mounting bracket to the gang box with two screws; secure the bracket to the wall with 4 screws.
    3. Route and connect the cables, then install the cable cover (if applicable).
    4. Hang the device onto the bracket hook and tighten the screws.

    Pole Mounting (bracket not included by default)

    1. Cut the hole in the installation surface per the drill template.
    2. Install the pole and tighten the nut.
    3. Route the cables.
    4. Tighten the screw with an L-shaped screwdriver.
    5. Connect the cables.
    6. Install the rubber plug.
    7. Loosen the screws to adjust the angle of the device.
    8. Fix the device and bracket in place with four screws.

    Height & Distance Recommendations

    • Recommended installation height (H): 4.25ft to 4.75ft, covering human heights of 4.6ft to 6.3ft in the detection area — adjustable per actual installation scene.
    • Best temperature measuring distance: 1ft to 1.3ft.
    • Best face recognition distance: 1.6ft to 3.2ft.

    Network Connection

    1. Ensure the device and PC are connected via LAN.
    2. Download and install the "Speco Blue Scanner" utility from the Speco website, then run it. It performs an immediate device network search, listing device name, type, model, IP address, HTTP port, data port, and subnet for all discovered devices on the network.
    3. The device defaults to obtaining its IP address automatically via DHCP. Click a device's entry in the scanner list to view/edit its network information. Enter the administrator password to modify network parameters (IP address, subnet mask, gateway) — ensure the camera's address is on the same local network segment as your computer. Default administrator password: 1234.
    4. Double-click the camera in the scanner list, or manually enter its IP address in a web browser, to connect to the device. Follow the prompts to download and install the required browser plugin.
    5. Log in with the default credentials: username: admin, password: 1234.

    This device should be installed by qualified personnel only; all examination and repair must be performed by qualified personnel. Unauthorized changes or modifications could void the warranty.

    Do not drop the device or subject it to physical shock. Keep away from liquid while in use. Do not touch the screen with sharp objects. If cleaning is necessary, wipe gently with a clean cloth, avoiding water or alcohol.
