Quick Start Guide for the Speco Technologies O4B9 — a 4MP H.265 IP bullet camera with advanced analytics. Covers safety warnings, package contents, connector layout, installation, and initial web login.

    Important Safeguards and Warnings

    Electrical Safety

    • All installation and operation must conform to local electrical safety codes.
    • Use a certified/listed 12VDC Class 2 power supply only.
    • Do not connect two power sources to the device at the same time — it may damage the device.
    • The product must be grounded to reduce the risk of electric shock.
    • Improper handling and/or installation risks fire or electrical shock.

    Environment

    • Do not expose the unit to heavy stress, violent vibration, or long-term exposure to water/humidity during transport, storage, or installation.
    • Do not install near heat sources, power lines, radar equipment, or other electromagnetic radiation.
    • Install only within the specified operating temperature and humidity range.
    • Do not block any ventilation openings.
    • Use all provided weatherproofing hardware to minimize weather intrusion.

    Operation and Daily Maintenance

    • Shut down the device and unplug the power cable before performing any maintenance.
    • Do not touch the CMOS sensor optic component — use a blower to clean dust from the lens surface.
    • Use a dry soft cloth for general cleaning; if heavily dusty, use a cloth dampened with a small amount of neutral detergent, then finish with a dry cloth.
    • Use professional optical cleaning methods on the enclosure — improper cleaning (e.g. with a cloth) may cause poor IR performance and/or IR reflection.
    • Ground the product's grounding holes to further enhance reliability.
    • Don't touch or wipe the dome cover surface directly. If dirty: for dust, use an oil-free soft brush or hair dryer; for grease/fingerprints, use an oil-free cotton cloth or paper soaked with alcohol or detergent, wiping from the lens center outward, changing the cloth as needed.

Warning: this camera should be installed and serviced by qualified personnel only. Any unauthorized changes or modifications could void the warranty.

    Overview / Connector Layout

    • 1 — Fixed ring
    • 2 — Mounting base
    • 3 — Ethernet connector
    • 4 — Audio input
    • 5 — Power connector (DC12V) — not required if a PoE switch or injector is used to power the camera
    • 6 — Micro SD card slot
    • 7 — Reset

To remove the bezel: insert a slotted screwdriver into the slot of the bezel and open the bezel portion only. It is recommended to install the security cap for outdoor installations. An external microphone input is also available near the water-proof connector.

    Connecting the Network Cable

    1. Loosen the nut from the main element.
    2. Run the network cable (without an RJ45 connector) through both elements, then crimp the cable with an RJ45 connector.
    3. Connect the cable to the water-proof connector, then tighten the nut and the main cover.

    Installation

Before you start: make sure the wall or ceiling is strong enough to withstand three times the weight of the camera.

    1. Open the mounting base and the upper cover of the junction box.
    2. Attach the drill template of the junction box to the desired install location, then drill the screw hole and cable hole per the template.
    3. Install the junction box onto the wall using the provided screws (4x PA 4x25mm) and anchors (8mm), with rubber o-rings.
    4. Fasten the camera onto the mounting base using 3x PM 4x10mm screws (6.6mm drill).
    5. Connect the cables, then install the camera onto the junction box.
    6. Bracket adjustment: loosen the fixed ring to adjust the camera's view angle (Pan 360°, Tilt 80°). Once you have the optimum angle, tighten the fixed ring to complete installation.

    Web Operation and Login

    1. Ensure the camera and PC are on the same local network. The camera is set to DHCP by default.
    2. Install IP Scanner from the included CD, or download it from https://www.specotech.com/ip-scanner/, then run it.
    3. In the device list, view the IP address, model number, and MAC address of each device found. Select your device and double-click to open the web viewer, or manually enter the IP address in your browser's address bar.
    4. Log in with the default username admin and password 1234. Follow prompts to install any required plugins after logging in.
