  • Speco O2VD2 — 2MP IP Dome Camera User Manual

    September 08, 2026 4 min read

Speco Technologies O2VD2 2MP IP Dome Camera — User Manual covering web access, live view, and the full camera configuration interface (video, alarms, network, security, maintenance).

    Full text manual (for reference)

User manual for the Speco Technologies O2VD2 2MP IP dome camera — covers safety precautions, initial network setup/login, and a full walkthrough of the camera's web-based configuration interface (video, alarms, network, security, and maintenance settings).

    Main Features

    • Built-in PoE (Power over Ethernet)
    • IP67 rated for outdoor installations
    • Remote viewing via web browser, mobile app, and CMS/VMS software

    Safety & Installation Guidelines

    • All installation/operation must conform to local electrical safety codes. Use a certified/listed 12VDC Class 2 supply or adequate PoE switch.
    • Avoid heavy stress, violent vibration, or long-term water/humidity exposure during transport, storage, or installation.
    • Do not install near heat sources, power lines, radar equipment, or other electromagnetic radiation sources; do not block ventilation openings.
    • Shut down and unplug the camera before any maintenance. Never touch the CMOS sensor optic directly — use a blower for dust.
    • Clean the housing with a dry soft cloth; use a cloth lightly dampened with neutral detergent only if needed, then dry-wipe.
    • The dome cover is an optical component — do not touch or wipe it directly. For dirt, use an oil-free soft brush or hair dryer; for grease/fingerprints, use an oil-free cotton cloth or paper with alcohol/detergent, wiping outward from the lens center.
    • Ground the camera via its grounding holes to improve reliability. Installation and repairs should be done only by qualified personnel.

    Web Access & Login

    1. Ensure your PC and the camera are on the same local network. The camera uses DHCP by default and requires a DHCP server on your network (most routers include one).
    2. Install and run the IP Scanner utility from the included CD to discover cameras on your local network — it lists each device's IP address, model number, and MAC address.
    3. Double-click the applicable device in the list to open the web viewer, or manually enter the camera's IP address in your browser's address bar.
    4. Accept the privacy statement ("Already Read"), then log in. Default username: admin, default password: 1234. Install any prompted plug-ins for full video viewing.
    5. If this is your first login, you may be prompted to change the admin password. Note: changing the admin password does NOT automatically change the ONVIF password — check "Match ONVIF Password" (if available) or go to the ONVIF section separately.
    6. Supported browsers: Internet Explorer (plug-in required), Firefox, Edge, Safari, Google Chrome — use the latest version for best compatibility. Using a browser with the plug-in installed unlocks more camera functions.

    Live View

The live view screen provides real-time video streaming with on-screen playback controls, image capture, PTZ controls (if supported), and stream quality selection.

    Camera Configuration Menu Overview

The web configuration interface is organized into the following sections:

    • System Configuration — system information, date/time, local recording, storage settings

    • Alarm Setup — motion detection, other alarm types, alarm server (notification routing)
    • Detection Configuration — object removal detection, exception detection, line-crossing detection, intrusion detection (video analytics)
    • Network Configuration — TCP/IP, port settings, server config, ONVIF, DDNS, SNMP, 802.1x, RTSP, RTMP, UPnP, email, FTP, HTTPS, and QoS
    • Security Configuration — user administration, online user monitoring, IP block/allow lists, security management
    • Maintenance Configuration — backup/restore settings, reboot, firmware upgrade, operation log
    • Search — image search, local video search, and SD card video search (with playback, clipping, and download tools)

SD Card Video Search & Download

    1. Choose Record → SD Card, set the search date/time range, and click search.
    2. Filter by alarm event type if desired, and choose mixed (video+audio) or video-only stream.
    3. Double-click a file to play it back; the timetable can display in 24H/12H/2H/1H views.
    4. To clip and download: click on the timetable to mark a start time, click the start-time button (turns blue), mark an end time similarly, then click the download button to save the clip to your PC.
    5. Use "Set up" to choose the download folder, "Open" to play a downloaded file, "Clear List" to reset the download queue, and "Close" to exit the download window.
