Overview

The AS1 is a WiFi-enabled digital streamer built to satisfy residential audio enthusiasts and commercial installations alike. Using the free a-live iOS/Android app, you can stream and distribute music to up to 12 zones — the same music everywhere, or different music per zone — from local storage (phone memory, NAS, USB, hard disk) or online streaming services like Spotify, Tidal, TuneIn, and iHeartRadio.

What You Need for Installation

• WiFi router
• Amplifier with connected speakers (commercial 70V amp, residential amp, or active speakers)
• Mobile device or computer

Interface & Connections

• WiFi Antenna: Connects to WiFi.
• Reset button: Resets the device if you have WiFi connection problems.
• LED status indicator: Blinking white = searching for network; solid white = powered on / network connected / WiFi or USB streaming; solid green = line-in streaming.
• Optical output: 2.1 digital output for devices such as an amplifier.
• Coaxial output: Coaxial output for devices such as an amplifier.
• Line out: Analog output to a receiver or amplifier.
• Network connector (RJ45): Wired Ethernet connection.
• USB input: Connects local storage devices (thumb drives, etc.).

Installation Steps

1. Unpack: Verify all accessories are included.
2. Position: The AS1 has an integrated mounting bracket for wall or surface mounting — complete all installation/testing steps before permanently mounting.
3. Connect power: Connect the power adaptor to the streamer first, then plug the AC plug into the wall outlet.
4. Connect audio: Use the included RCA cable to connect the AS1's Line Output to the Line Input on your 70V (or other) amplifier, or use an optional cable with one of the other outputs.
5. Download the app: Get the "a-live" app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).

Configuration Options

Option 1 — Via the App

1. Connect your mobile device to your WiFi network.
2. Open the app > press Add Device (+) > choose Settings > select the "a-live_xxxx" hotspot.
3. After connecting, switch back to your device's WLAN settings — the app will jump into configuration mode.
4. Choose your 2.4GHz network, enter the password, and wait for the device to finish configuring.

Option 2 — Via Web Console

1. Power on the device.
2. Select the "a-live_xxxx" hotspot in your phone or computer's WiFi settings and connect.
3. Open a browser and go to 10.10.10.254.
4. Go to WiFi > choose your 2.4GHz router > enter the password > click Connect and wait for configuration to complete.

Option 3 — Via Wired LAN

1. Power on the device.
2. Plug a wired cable into the RJ45 Ethernet port — the device appears in the app within about 10 seconds.

App Basics

• Playback: The Device List shows all available zones. Tap a zone to see current source info; swipe right on the source view to browse other available sources.
• Combining zones: Press and hold a zone until it's ready to merge, drag it onto the master zone, and release — zones combine in about 30 seconds. Drag a zone below the dotted line to separate it again.
• Music sources: Access hard files on your network, files on the a-live hardware, or connected streaming services (tap "+ Add More Services" for the full, growing list).
• Device Settings: Set an alarm clock or sleep timer, view technical info, or rename the device.
• Firmware updates: The app notifies you when a new firmware version is available — keep the streamer updated for bug fixes, security improvements, and new features.
