    Installation guide and specifications for the Somfy SDN Power over Ethernet (PoE) Gateway, Part #1860326 (kit with cable: #1870445) — a low-voltage power distribution and network-connected module that powers and controls Somfy® 24V RS485 shade and drapery motors over standard PoE.

    Overview

    The SDN PoE Gateway delivers up to 51W of power and Ethernet-based connectivity, and is powered/connected via standard Cat 5e/6 UTP cable. It supports both the Somfy Synergy™ API and CoAP Digital Building API, and is compatible with the Molex Transcend Network Connected System. The gateway controls Somfy Digital Network™ (SDN) devices — up to 4 low-voltage RS485 motors per gateway.

    Ref. #1870445 is a kit that includes the SDN PoE Gateway plus the PoE Gateway to Motor Adapter Cable (#9025010).

    Wiring Distance Limits

    Installation

    Must be installed by a qualified technician. Check local and national codes for proper installation.

    1. Observe electrostatic precautions when handling the gateway.
    2. Risk of electric shock — do not handle the energized gateway with wet hands or while standing on wet/damp surfaces.
    3. Warranty voids if the gateway is modified from its original configuration.
    4. Do not use outdoors.
    5. Use only with a Class 2 Power Unit — 60VDC maximum. Conforms to UL1310, certified to CSA C22.2 No. 223.
    6. Mount using the two mounting hole patterns shown for either the standalone metal gateway or the front-facing bracket.
    7. Snap the wire harness male connector into the female connector until it clicks.
    8. Mount the PoE Gateway using two #8 self-tapping screws (not provided).
    9. Connect all motors to the SDN Output on the gateway before applying power.
    10. On the front top side of the gateway, connect the PoE CAT cable until it clicks. Use a UTP CAT5E or CAT6 cable, maximum 100 meters.
    11. Download the configuration software from somfysystems.com/support/tools/configuration-tools-software.

    The Power LED turns on once powered. The LINK and ACTIVE indicators blink rapidly once a network connection is established.

    Sonesse® ULTRA 50 RS485 includes its Data and Power Pigtail (#9020004) with the motor; Sonesse® 30 RS485 pigtail (#9020261) is not included and must be ordered separately.
