User manual for the SmartBus/iSmart Group iVDP2 and iVDP2c Smart Wifi Door Bell — an Internet Video Door Phone for smartphones and tablets, covering models SS-iVDP2-EWL, SS-iVDP2c-EWL, SS-iVDP2-UWL, and SS-iVDP2c-UWL.

Overview

The iVDP is a Wi-Fi/LAN video door phone that places a videophone call to your iOS or Android device when a visitor presses the call button, letting you see and talk to visitors and remotely unlock the door (6-digit passcode protected). A built-in loitering-detection alarm can snap a photo with a timestamp and alert your phone if someone lingers at the door without pressing the button. Each unit supports up to 8 simultaneous users.

Model Selection

European back-box models fit: Iran, Germany, Scandinavia, Latin America, China, UK, France, Indonesia. Universal back-box models additionally fit: New Zealand, USA, South Africa, Australia. Power supply plug codes: UK (British 3-pin), US (flat 2-pin), EU (round 2-pin), AZ (Australia/NZ flat-tilt 2-pin).

Note: Installing MX-Player on Android devices is recommended to avoid video "hide" issues.

Installation

1. Connect the DC power (12V, 1A) and LAN cable to your router (or connect LAN with PoE, skipping the iVDP power supply). Do not connect the LAN cable if you plan to use Wi-Fi instead.
2. Connect wires to your alarm secure sensor and lock per the wiring diagram.
3. Unscrew the 4 screws (2 top, 2 bottom) and open the cover by squeezing the middle section.
4. Connect the main 5-core cable and test.
5. Fix the device to the back box or wall with screws.
6. Reattach the cover with the 4 screws.

Back panel terminals: Rj45 Port, Power Socket (+12V red, GND black, Alarm yellow, GND black, Lock green), Reset Switch, LED Light. If using PoE, do not also use the power supply.

Wi-Fi Configuration & App Setup

1. Download the app: search "Smart iVDP" or "Smart G4" on the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android), or download from www.smarthomebus.com. Requires an internet connection.
2. Power on the unit and wait for the voice prompt "Welcome to Smart Home."
3. Continuously press the call button for 4 seconds, then release. The unit announces "network configuration mode now, you have 5 min please."
4. On your phone's Wi-Fi settings, find and connect to the network "Bell-00***" using initial password 123456789.
5. Return to the app to continue setup. (Skip this Wi-Fi step entirely if connecting via RJ45/LAN cable.)
6. In the app, tap Add to add the device — via QR scan, search, shake, or by entering the Device S.ID# directly.
7. To connect the device to your home router over Wi-Fi instead of LAN: tap Settings > Wi-Fi Settings, then select your home network.

System Settings

• Door Bell System Settings: voice prompts on/off, configuration mode on/off, max remote monitoring session (10–300s), max 2-way call time (10–300s), max ring-wait time (10–30s).
• White List (Multi-User) Settings: the first registered user is automatically the administrator; up to 7 additional users can be added (8 total, mixed iOS/Android).
• Alarm Settings: enable/disable the alarm, choose sensor type, set alarm delay time, and auxiliary sensor activation window. Only the Advanced iVDP2c accepts additional RF sensors/controllers (smoke, gas, water leak, shutter relay, RF locks, RFID access, etc.).
• Time & Interface Settings: clock sync via NTP server, manual geographic position, and I/O interface definitions.

Door Unlock Control

Go to Lock Settings in the app to set or change the 6-digit unlock passcode (default: 123456).

Using the Smart Wifi Door Bell

Visitor Video Phone Calling

Once configured, pressing the door bell button places a videophone call to your phone. Press and hold the mic icon to talk, release to listen. On-call controls: Mute, Video (record), Photo (snapshot), Unlock (with 6-digit code), Delay (extend the call), End, and Talk (half-duplex, walkie-talkie style).

Proactive Monitoring

Check the area near the door anytime (even with no incoming call) using the Monitoring feature in the app.

Loitering Alert (Real-Time Alarm)

If someone stands in front of the unit longer than your configured alarm delay without pressing the button, an alarm triggers, sending an alert and snapshot, and letting you view the visitor live from the app.

Playback

Go to Video or Picture in the app and select the device/file to play back recorded videos or photos. Go to Record to review the alarm log.

Troubleshooting

• Unit not operational (no light): check the power supply and cable harness connections.
• Unit shows offline: check router connectivity, LAN cable, and restart Wi-Fi settings.
• Forgotten password, or need to remove all users / factory restore: perform a Hard Reset.

Resetting the Unit

Easy Method (if Easy Reset is enabled): press and hold the call button for 15 seconds until you hear "reset is successful, the system is being restarted, please wait." Release and wait about a minute for "welcome to smart home" — reset is complete.

Hard Reset Method (always available): keep the door bell powered, press the reset switch hidden behind the door, wait for the reset/restart announcement and "welcome to smart home," then go to the app, delete the device ID, and re-add the iVDP as new.
