Complete user manual for the SkylinkHome™ Wall Dimmer, Model WR-001 — a wireless-controlled, in-wall replacement light switch with dimming, flashing-alert, and countdown-timer modes.

Overview

The Wall Dimmer WR-001 replaces an existing wall switch, letting you wirelessly turn lights on/off and dim/brighten them using any SkylinkHome™ transmitter (remote control, motion sensor, etc.). It communicates with up to 8 transmitters using rolling-code technology for security. Package includes: Wall Dimmer, wire nuts, and user instructions.

Installation

1. Turn off power to the circuit at the breaker.
2. The Wall Dimmer operates incandescent or dimmable CFL bulbs only, up to 600W at 120VAC. Bulbs must be dimmable to achieve the dimming function.
3. Connect the 2 wires — Live and Load — using the provided wire nuts: Load (red) to load, Live (black) to live, Ground (green) to ground.
4. Confirm all wire connectors are secure with no exposed copper. Secure the Wall Dimmer with the provided screws.
5. Set the air gap switch to OFF.
6. Turn the circuit breaker back ON.
7. Set the air gap switch to ON — the two blue LEDs will light.
8. The connected light will be off. Tap the metal touch pad to turn the light ON/OFF, or begin programming transmitters.

Antenna note: The grey antenna wire should not be cut — keep it as straight as possible. Route it directly into the drywall (or through a hole in the metal box) for maximum remote control range.

Programming Transmitters

Up to 8 transmitters/sensors can be programmed to the Wall Dimmer, each assigned one of 3 operating modes:

• Regular Mode: turns the light on/off, or dims/brightens it, on a valid signal.
• Flashing Alert Mode: the light flashes for a set duration as an alert indication.
• Countdown Timer Mode: the light turns on for a set duration (1, 5, 15, 30, or 60 minutes) — useful for energy saving.

To program a transmitter

1. Ensure the Wall Dimmer is installed and powered. Touch the touch pad so the light is on and both blue LEDs are off.
2. Press and hold "SET" for ~3 seconds — the upper blue LED flashes quickly (Regular Mode programming). Release SET to program for Regular/On-Off Mode.
3. For Flashing Alert Mode, continue holding SET for ~10 seconds until the upper LED flashes slowly, then release.
4. For Countdown Timer Mode, continue holding SET for ~10 seconds until the upper LED is steadily on, then release.
5. Transmit a "Learn" code from the transmitter (see the transmitter's own manual).
6. Once programmed, both blue LEDs flash quickly then stop — programming is complete.

Note: Complete the programming sequence within 15 seconds of starting, or the Wall Dimmer exits programming mode and you must start over. Use a sharp non-conductive object to press SET — changing the load state via the touch pad while pressing SET will interfere with the learning process.

Setting Timer Duration

Applies to transmitters programmed for Flashing Alert or Countdown Timer Mode. The light must be off (both blue LEDs on) to set the duration.

1. Press and hold SET for 3 seconds — the lower blue LED begins flashing to indicate the current setting.
2. Continue holding SET; the setting advances every 6 seconds through the table below.

During a timer countdown, a new timer signal restarts the countdown (extending the on period). To stop a countdown early, press a button programmed for Regular Mode.

Operating Modes

The factory default is On/Off Mode (no dimming). If your light is dimmable, you can switch to Dimming Mode:

1. Turn on the light via a programmed transmitter or the touch pad.
2. Press and hold the programmed "Regular" mode transmitter button, or touch the touch pad, for 10 seconds.
3. The light flashes once for On/Off Mode, or twice for Dimming Mode.
4. Repeat step 2 to toggle between the two modes.

On/Off Operation

Tap the touch pad once to toggle the light on/off, or press a programmed transmitter button.

Brightness Control

With the light on, keep touching the touch pad (or hold the transmitter button) to change brightness; release when the desired level is reached. Repeat in the opposite direction to reverse the dimming direction. Pressing and holding for more than 10 seconds toggles between On/Off and Dimming Mode.

Flashing Alert & Countdown Timer Operation

In Flashing Alert Mode, the light flashes for the programmed interval and the upper blue LED flashes; the lower LED flashes during the final minute. In Countdown Timer Mode, the light stays on for the interval with the upper LED steadily lit; the lower LED flashes during the final minute. Activating a Regular or alternate-mode transmitter during either interval can override the current operation.

Erasing Transmitters

Individual transmitters cannot be erased selectively — erasing clears all programmed devices, after which you re-program the ones you want to keep.

1. Power off the Wall Dimmer (air gap switch to OFF).
2. Press and hold SET, then while holding it, slide the air gap switch to ON.
3. Both blue LEDs light, then turn off.
4. Release SET — all devices are now erased.
