Installation instructions for the Simply Automated ZTP2 Tabletop Pedestal Enclosure — a desktop mounting enclosure for the US2 Universal Dimming Transceiver Base and its matching rocker or push-button faceplates.

Overview

The ZTP2 Tabletop Pedestal Enclosure is used to table-mount a Simply Automated US2 Universal Dimming Transceiver Base along with any matching multi-rocker or push-button faceplate. Once wired in, a qualified technician can build a quad-rocker switch or even an 8-button controller for tabletop use. The pedestal can be placed anywhere in the home — a bedside nightstand, a home office desk, or next to a favorite recliner — with no additional wiring and no radio frequency signals. Once assembled, the Tabletop controller can be configured to activate other UPB devices such as lamp modules, dimming switches, and UPB lighting scenes.

Parts Included

• Enclosure lid and base
• 2 enclosure screws (6/32 x 1¼ inch)
• 3 wire nuts
• Power cord
• Strain relief grommet

The US2 transceiver and faceplate are sold separately.

Installation Steps

1. Confirm all ZTP2 parts are available (see Parts Included above).
2. Prepare the US2 transceiver: cut off the ground wire, bend the remaining wires toward the top of the transceiver, and cut them approximately 2 inches above the transceiver body.
3. Strip back the US2 wires (0.375 inches) per the strip gauge on the back of the US2-40. Install a wire nut on the unused brown wire to prevent shorting or shock.
4. Remove and discard the two 6/32 x ¾ inch mounting screws and retainers from the US2 transceiver — they will not be needed for this installation.
5. Install the rocker or button faceplate of choice on the front of the US2 transceiver per the US2 installation instructions.
6. Thread the stripped end of the power cord through the hole in the base of the pedestal, leaving about 6 inches of wire exposed inside the base.
7. Identify the ribbed neutral wire of the power cord (connected to the large blade on the plug). Using a wire nut, connect it to the white wire of the US2 transceiver.
8. Using a wire nut, connect the non-ribbed power cord wire to the black wire of the US2 transceiver.
9. Install the US2 transceiver into the enclosure base so the wire nuts tuck into the large end of the base — above the power cord hole and below the top mounting bracket.
10. Install the front cover (lid) of the enclosure over the US2 switch onto the base. Insert the two 6/32 x 1¼ inch screws from the bottom through the screw holes and tighten to 3 inch-pounds.
11. Install the strain relief grommet on the power cord.

Configuration and Operation

To configure and operate the Tabletop Pedestal and link it to one or more UPB devices, refer to the instructions for the SimplyBrilliant US2 Universal Dimming Transceiver.
