Simply Automated Label Kit for Pushbutton Faceplates (ZLK-01)

    Full text manual (for reference)

User instructions for the Simply Automated Label Kit for pushbutton faceplates (Models ZLK-01-W, ZLK-01-A, ZLK-01-LA, ZLK-01-I) — 10 die-cut sheets for laser/inkjet printers.

    Overview

These die-cut labels let an installer or homeowner custom-label each button on a Simply Automated multi-button faceplate using any text, font, or icons — even a background color or pattern to match the room decor or switch color. Each sheet contains die-cut labels for all Simply Automated multi-button faceplates. To print black, brown, or other dark background colors, use the white Label Kit (model ZLK-01-W). Downloadable Microsoft Word and Publisher templates are available at www.Simply-Automated.com/templates.

User Instructions — Microsoft Word 2000+

    1. Download the template file and save it to your PC.
    2. Open the template file in Microsoft Word.
    3. Place the cursor above (or beside) the button to input/edit button text. You may need to vertically adjust the line/text position in a text box — select all text in the box, then use Format > Paragraph > Spacing > Before to adjust line spacing.
    4. To modify background color or pattern, select the light-gray outlined box around the label, right-click and select "Format AutoShape" (see custom color instructions below).
    5. Save the file.
    6. Important: remove the label outline image from the background before printing — click on the outside outlines just inside the page borders and press Delete.
    7. Print a test page on plain paper first and verify alignment with the label die-cut. Adjust (nudge) text background boxes as necessary.

User Instructions — Microsoft Publisher 98+

    1. Download the template file and save it to your PC.
    2. Open the template file in Microsoft Publisher.
    3. Place the cursor above (or beside) the button to input/edit button text. You may need to nudge text boxes depending on the printer margins and font selected.
    4. To modify background color or pattern, place the cursor in the area below each label, right-click and select "Format AutoShape."
    5. Important: hide the label outline image before printing — from the menu bar select View and click Ignore Master Page.
    6. Print a test page on plain paper first and verify alignment with the label die-cut. Adjust (nudge) text background boxes as necessary.

Specifying Custom Colors for the Background

    1. Select the bounding box.
    2. Right-click the bounding box and select "Format AutoShape…" to open the Format AutoShape menu. Select "More Colors…" from the Fill → Color dropdown on the "Colors and Lines" tab.
    3. From the "Custom" tab, select RGB for the color model and enter the R, G, B values for the color you wish to use (see table below).

    RGB Values by Faceplate Color

Color Channel Almond Light Almond Ivory Brown Black
    Red 242 230 69 69 0
    Green 232 222 28 28 0
