    Specifications and installation guide for the Simply Automated 8-Button Tabletop Pedestal Controller, Model US28xTP, a plug-in remote controller for UPB lighting and appliances.

    Overview

    The US28xTP is built around the popular SimplyBrilliant US2-40 UPB transceiver switch base (with over 75 field-configurable faceplate options), housed in a plug-in tabletop pedestal enclosure. It plugs into any standard duplex receptacle — nightstand, entertainment room, kitchen, anywhere in the home — and provides remote ON/OFF and dimming control of UPB lighting and appliances with no new wiring or RF signals. Once configured, it can be unplugged and moved without losing its programming.

    Features

    • Simple plug-in installation; relocate anywhere in the home.
    • Remote ON/OFF and dimming control of UPB devices.
    • Each button can control an individual UPB device or be linked to several devices to create a lighting "scene" with preset light levels.
    • Manual scene-link modification directly from rockers/buttons — add/delete devices from a scene with 7 or 8 taps, adjust and save linked light levels with 7 taps — no UPStart software required.
    • Custom labeling via the Model ZLK-01 Labeling Kit; labels can be changed if the unit is reprogrammed.
    • Optional Pedestal Enclosure Accessory (Model ZTP2-x) lets an installer configure the pedestal with any of Simply Automated's 78 switch/faceplate combinations, or convert any SimplyBrilliant Standard/Universal Transceiver Switch into a portable plug-in remote.
    • Available in black and white.

    Installation

    Plug the US28xTP into any standard duplex receptacle. Once configured via UPStart, it can be unplugged and moved anywhere in the home without losing its programming. Manual scene-link modification (adding/removing devices, adjusting light levels) is done by pressing rockers/buttons in a specific sequence — a capability unique to Simply Automated devices.
