User and safety guide for the Shelly Plus 2PM, a 2-circuit Wi-Fi smart switch with power measurement and cover control.

    Full text manual (for reference)

User and safety guide for the Shelly Plus 2PM, a 2-circuit Wi-Fi smart switch with power measurement and roller shutter/cover control functionality.

    Product Overview

The Shelly Plus 2PM is a compact, DIN-rail/flush mountable Wi-Fi relay module that independently switches two separate load circuits and measures power consumption on each. It can also be configured to control a single roller shutter or cover motor (up/down) instead of two independent circuits.

    Device Terminals

    Terminal Function
O1 Load circuit 1 output terminal
O2 Load circuit 2 output terminal
    SW1 (I1) Switch/control input terminal for circuit 1
    SW2 (I2) Switch/control input terminal for circuit 2
    N Neutral terminal
    L Line/phase contact terminal (110-240VAC)
    I Power supply input (110-240VAC)

    Wiring Configurations

The device supports several wiring layouts depending on installation needs, illustrated in the manual's schematic diagrams:

    • Standard 2-circuit mode: Each load circuit (O1, O2) is switched independently, each with its own local switch input (SW1, SW2).
    • Single switch mode: One physical switch controls one circuit.
    • Dual switch mode: Two independent switches control two separate circuits.
    • Roller shutter/cover mode: The two output channels are configured together to drive a single shutter/cover motor in the up and down directions (indicated by directional arrows in the wiring diagram). This mode is set via the Shelly mobile app or web interface after installation.

    Safety Warnings

    • This device must be installed by a qualified electrician in compliance with local electrical codes.
    • Disconnect power at the breaker before wiring or servicing the device.
    • Do not exceed the rated load per channel — verify load compatibility (resistive, inductive, or capacitive) before connecting.
    • Ensure proper ventilation; do not install the device in an enclosed space without adequate airflow.
    • Keep the device away from water, moisture, and excessive heat.

    Initial Setup (Wi-Fi Connection)

    1. Power on the device after wiring is complete and verified.
    2. Download the Shelly Smart Control app (available for iOS and Android).
    3. Follow the in-app instructions to connect the device to your home Wi-Fi network — the device broadcasts its own temporary access point (AP) during first-time setup, which you join briefly from your phone to hand off your home Wi-Fi credentials.
    4. Once connected, the device appears in your app dashboard where you can name it, assign it to a room, and configure switch mode (2-circuit vs. roller shutter/cover).
    5. Configure any desired automations, schedules, or third-party integrations (Amazon Alexa, Google Home, etc.) from within the app.

    Certifications

CE, RoHS, and WEEE compliant. Refer to the manufacturer's EU Declaration of Conformity for full regulatory details.
