    Installation and programming instructions for the Qubino Flush RGBW Dimmer (ZMNHWD3), an in-wall Z-Wave module for controlling RGB/RGBW LED strips and halogen lighting with color and scene effects.

    Overview

    The Qubino Flush RGBW Dimmer controls RGB/RGBW strips and LED strips or bulbs to create countless color options, and includes six special scene effects. It can also control halogen lights. Its extremely small size allows for easy installation behind wall sockets and switches. Controlled devices may be powered by 12 or 24VDC. It supports momentary and on/off toggle switches.

    Safety Warnings

    • Danger of electrocution! Installation requires a great degree of skill and may be performed only by a licensed and qualified electrician. Even when the device is turned off, voltage may still be present in the device's terminals.
    • The Flush RGBW Dimmer is suggested to operate within low voltage circuits (12VDC or 24VDC). Connecting loads powered by higher voltage may damage the device.
    • The device must be powered by the same voltage as the connected light source — e.g. a 12V LED strip requires a 12V power supply; a 24V RGBW strip requires a 24V power supply.
    • Device must be powered by a dedicated regulated power adapter.
    • Rapid light changes may potentially trigger seizures for people with photosensitive epilepsy.
    • Do not connect the device to loads exceeding recommended values. Improper wiring may be dangerous and result in equipment damage.

    Installation Steps

    1. Before installation, disconnect the power supply (12-24VDC).
    2. Connect the device exactly according to the wiring diagram.
    3. Pull out the antenna and keep it at 90 degrees to enhance RF signals.
    4. Place the antenna as far as possible from metal elements as they may cause signal interference.
    5. Do not shorten the antenna.

    The device's output is controlled by PWM at 488Hz. When controlling long RGBW/RGB/LED strips, voltage drops may occur, resulting in lower brightness farther from the R/G/B/W outputs. To minimize this, connect several shorter strips in parallel rather than one long strip in series. Maximum recommended strip length is 33 feet (10m). Follow manufacturer recommendations regarding wire gauge for each load connected.

    If your primary Z-Wave gateway is damaged or lost, but the device is connected to an external switch, the Flush RGBW Dimmer can operate normally with local control. Otherwise, replace your Z-Wave gateway to exclude the device from the previous network and re-include it to restore wireless control.

    Z-Wave Inclusion

    Auto-Inclusion

    1. Enable inclusion mode on your Z-Wave gateway (hub).
    2. Connect the device to the power supply.
    3. If properly connected, the RGBW strip will blink once.
    4. Auto-inclusion begins within 5 seconds of power connection; the device automatically enrolls in your network. If included properly, the green LED inside the device stays on.

    Auto-inclusion times out after 2 minutes (red and green LEDs will blink alternately).

    Manual Inclusion

    1. Connect the device to the power supply.
    2. Enable inclusion mode on your Z-Wave gateway (hub).
    3. Press and release the S (Service) button 3 times within 2 seconds.
    4. If properly included, the green LED inside the device stays on.

    Z-Wave Exclusion

    1. Connect the device to the power supply.
    2. Make sure the device is within direct range of your Z-Wave gateway (hub), or use a hand-held Z-Wave remote to perform exclusion.
    3. Press and release the S (Service) button 3 times within 2 seconds.
    4. If properly excluded, the green LED inside the device will blink for 2 minutes (auto-inclusion time).

    The device will be excluded from your network, but any custom configuration parameters will not be erased.

    Factory Reset

    1. Connect the device to the power supply.
    2. Press and hold the S (Service) button for at least 10 seconds.

    If the device is properly reset, the green LED inside the device will stay on, the RGBW strip will blink once, and the green LED will then blink for 2 minutes (auto-inclusion time). Resetting the device returns all custom parameters to default values, and the owner ID is deleted. Use this reset procedure only when the main gateway (hub) is missing or otherwise inoperable.
