Sensaphone WSG30 — Firmware Revision History & Upgrade Instructions

Firmware revision history and upgrade instructions for the Sensaphone WSG30 (equipment firmware v1.71, released September 14, 2016).

Overview

The upgrade package has no prerequisites and supersedes all other upgrade or software fix packages previously distributed. Unpredictable results may occur if the upgrade procedure is not followed completely.

Version 1.71 (September 14, 2016)

• Corrected an issue where sensors may inadvertently be removed from the system after a reboot.

Version 1.70 (October 23, 2014)

• Sensor Low Battery alarms are now sent to users in all tiers.
• Sensor off-line alarms are now sent to users in all tiers.
• Sensor datalogging is suspended when a sensor goes offline.
• Added support for extended precision when using 4-20mA sensors.
• Extended the sensor off-line time-out period to allow sensor networks to reconfigure without tripping a false off-line alarm.
• General webpage updates.
• If reloading programming from a file with 4-20mA sensors present, the programming file must be loaded twice.

Firmware Installation Instructions

1. Save your programming. Open a web browser and go to the WSG30 web page. Select Setup from the main menu, then Admin. Within the Programming section, click Save — this saves your programming as programming.bin, which can be used to reprogram your system if necessary.
2. Save your Datalog and Eventlog. After the firmware update, history files may be cleared, so use the Export feature on the History pages to save this information first.
3. Check your current firmware version on the same page, next to the Current heading.
4. Check for a newer version at www.sensaphone.com under Support > WSG30. Compare your installed version to the one posted. Download the new file if you want to upgrade.
5. Install the new firmware. Click Browse in the Firmware Upload section of the Admin page, locate the downloaded firmware file, click Open, then click Upload. Confirm the upgrade prompt (OK). After the file transfers, the screen turns blue and instructs you to wait two minutes before reconnecting — do not disrupt power to the WSG30 during this time. After two minutes, re-enter the IP address in your browser and refresh.
6. Check the new firmware version once the unit is back online, via Setup > Admin.
7. Check your programming and test the system. Review Sensor, User, and Contact programming. If anything is missing, reload it from the programming.bin file saved earlier via Admin > Programming Upload > Browse > Open > Upload, confirm the prompt, wait two minutes for reboot, then re-enter the IP address and test by activating an alarm and confirming the notification process.
