Installation instructions for the Sensaphone 4-20mA Type Vibration Sensor, Model FGD-0303.
Installation instructions for the Sensaphone 4-20mA Type Vibration Sensor, Model FGD-0303 — a vibration sensor for use with any Sensaphone remote monitoring unit that accepts a 4-20mA input signal.
The FGD-0303 monitors vibration levels from 0-25 mm/s (rms) and outputs a standard 4-20mA signal to a compatible Sensaphone zone input. It requires a separate 24VDC power supply (Sensaphone Part No. FGD-0070) to operate.
Do not route the sensor's wires in the same conduit as wiring used to supply inductive loads such as motors. Disconnect the power supply before making any connections, to prevent electrical shock or equipment damage. Make all connections in accordance with national and local codes.
This forms a series loop: the 24VDC supply powers the sensor via the brown wire, the sensor's 4-20mA output (white wire) feeds the Sensaphone's monitoring input positive terminal, and a shared negative/ground connection ties the power supply and Sensaphone terminal block together.
