    Parts List

    • 1x PoE Switch
    • 1x Power adapter (NS-104UT-MAQ only)
    • 1x AC Power cord
    • 1x Manual

    Sample Installation

    1. Determine the best location for the switch — the uplink cable (and PoE device cable, except NS-104UT-MAQ with VLAN turned ON) cannot exceed 328ft (100m).
    2. If installing the NS-104UT-MAQ, make sure the VLAN function switch is set correctly.
    3. Turn off power to both the display device and the PoE device before proceeding — installation under power can damage the transmission equipment.
    4. Connect the PoE device(s) to a downlink port using a Cat5e/6 cable (EIA/TIA 568A or 568B).
    5. Connect the DVR or computer to the uplink port using a Cat5e/6 cable (same standard on both ends).
    6. Connect power to the switch and confirm the power LED and PoE LED (on connected ports) are on.
    7. Turn on the display device and verify the system is functioning properly.

    Troubleshooting

    Symptom Checks
PoE device doesn't function correctly Confirm both input and output devices are on; ensure Ethernet cable doesn't exceed 328ft (100m) or 656ft (200m) for NS-104UT-MAQ with VLAN on; confirm no PoE device exceeds 30W; confirm cable meets EIA/TIA 568A/568B and both ends match (not a crossover cable); test the cable and try a known-good PoE device.
