Instruction manual for the SECO-LARM ENFORCER CS-PD115-PAQ IR Proximity Sensor.

    Full text manual (for reference)

Instruction manual for the SECO-LARM ENFORCER CS-PD115-PAQ IR Proximity Sensor — a compact infrared sensor for anti-theft object protection or no-touch access control, with an adjustable sensing range and relay output.

    Introduction

The ENFORCER IR Proximity Sensor is a compact sensor that can be programmed to trigger an alarm when an object (such as a valuable possession) is removed from the sensing area, or unlock an electronic door lock when an object (such as a hand) is passed in front of the sensor. This flexibility makes it useful for both anti-theft and access control applications.

    • Anti-theft: Place the sensor under a painting or other valuable object. If the object is removed, the sensor triggers an alarm to alert the owner.
    • Access control: Mount the sensor to a wall or plate in a protected area — a user can wave a hand in front of the sensor to unlock an electric door lock for sanitary, no-touch egress.

    Features

    • Small size for a wide range of applications
    • Filters out interference from other infrared sources
    • Form C relay output (1A@30VDC)
    • Programmable trigger time (1~20 s) or toggle mode
    • Adjustable sensing range 2"~6" (5~15 cm)
    • Front panel IP65 protection for outdoor use
    • 12~24 VDC operation

    Parts List

    • 1x IR proximity sensor
    • 1x Wiring harness
    • 1x Hex nut
    • 1x O-ring
    • 1x Manual

    Installation

Drill a 3/4" (19mm) diameter hole in the mounting surface, insert the sensor with the O-ring, and secure with the hex nut on the back side. To ensure proper operation, make sure no objects sit or come within 11-3/4" (30cm), within 60° to the left and right of the front of the sensor, to avoid interference.

IR Range and Trigger Time Settings

    • Sensing range: Adjustable from Near (2"/5cm) to Far (6"/15cm) — default Far.
    • Trigger time: Adjustable from Short (1 sec) to Long (20 sec) — default Short. For toggle mode, set the trigger time to maximum.

    Wiring

    • Positive (+) — Red wire
    • Negative (–) — Brown wire
    • N.C. Output — Green wire
    • COM — Blue wire
    • N.O. Output — Purple wire

Sample wiring, anti-theft (sensor covered/relay active in normal state): Connect Positive (+) and Negative (–) to a power supply; connect N.C. Output and COM to the alarm control panel's N.C. input.

Sample wiring, no-touch egress (N.O. door strike): Connect Positive (+) and Negative (–) to power supply; connect N.C. Output and COM to the electric door strike. SECO-LARM recommends connecting a diode and metal oxide varistor (not included) in parallel with the controlled output device to suppress electromagnetic interference and protect the sensor.

    Troubleshooting

    Symptom Checks
Indicator light continuously green Check for objects in front of the sensor; adjust range shorter; confirm power supply is 12~24 VDC; adjust the trigger time setting (long delay/toggle mode may affect operation).
Indicator light will not turn green Adjust range longer; confirm power supply is 12~24 VDC.

    Warranty

This SECO-LARM product is warranted against defects in material and workmanship for one (1) year from the date of sale to the original customer, limited to repair or replacement (SECO-LARM's option) of the unit if returned with transportation prepaid. Void if damage results from misuse, abuse, neglect, unauthorized repair/alteration, or faulty installation.
