    Powering the Intercom

Press and slide the battery cover open, then insert 4 AA batteries. Important: to use rechargeable batteries and charge them via the power adapter, slide the internal battery mode switch to the rechargeable position. For alkaline batteries, leave the switch in the default position — using the wrong setting may damage the unit. Alternatively, plug a 12VDC power adapter into the DC jack.

    Power Controls

    • Power switch: Slide on — the transmission LED flashes and channel indicator blinks while searching for a signal; once found, the channel indicator stops blinking and the unit clicks.
    • Hibernate mode: Press and hold Volume Down for 5 seconds (indicated by a beep, one transmission LED flash, and three channel LED flashes). The unit cannot receive calls while hibernating.
    • Wake from hibernate: Press any key — the channel indicator blinks until a signal is found, then the unit beeps.

    Setup — Pairing Intercoms

Clearing Codes (required before setting up a new system)

    1. Press and release the pairing button once — channel LEDs flash in sequence (pairing mode).
    2. Press and hold the pairing button for 5 seconds until the channel LEDs turn off, the power LED flashes, and you hear a beep — preexisting codes are now cleared.

    Setting Up a New System

    1. Clear preexisting codes on all intercoms (above).
    2. Press the pairing button on one intercom (it becomes the primary unit) — channel LEDs flash in sequence.
    3. Within 60 seconds, press the pairing button on the other intercom. When pairing succeeds, both units' channel LEDs stop flashing.

Adding an Intercom to an Existing System

    1. Clear any preexisting codes on the new intercom.
    2. Press the pairing button on an already-paired intercom — its channel LEDs flash in sequence.
    3. Within 60 seconds, press the pairing button on the new intercom. Once complete, both units' LEDs stop flashing. Repeat for up to 16 total units.

    Basic Controls and Modes

    • Call button: Rings all intercoms on the same channel (or all channels in broadcast mode).
    • Talk button: Press and hold to speak — heard by all units on the same channel. Two units on the same channel cannot transmit simultaneously.
    • Volume Up/Down: Adjusts volume across 5 levels, with a beep confirmation.
    • Channel Selection: Cycles between 4 channels plus broadcast mode (all 4 LEDs lit = broadcast; receives/transmits on all channels). Privacy mode cannot be used in broadcast mode.
    • Hands-free: Sound-activated transmission without pressing Talk — may clip the first syllable and works poorly in noisy environments. Cancelled by pressing the channel button.
    • Lock button: Locks the intercom in continuous transmit mode for area monitoring — ties up the channel; other listeners who leave the channel can't resume monitoring even if they return. Press again to unlock.
    • Privacy button: Establishes a private conversation when neither unit is in broadcast mode and both are on the same channel. A pause of 10+ seconds between transmissions breaks the private channel.

Low battery indicator: power and channel LEDs blink every 20 seconds when battery voltage is low.

    Operation Tips

    • Open conversation: Press Call and wait for an answer, or press Talk directly — everyone on that channel hears the message and all replies.
    • Private conversation: Press Privacy before calling (its indicator LED lights), then press Call. The private link establishes once the receiver presses Talk within 10 seconds. During an active private conversation, the channel locks to the two units for ~6 seconds after each transmission to prevent interruption.
    • If a reply takes longer than 10 seconds, it will not be private and goes to everyone on the channel — but pressing Talk within 10 seconds of a private message keeps a private conversation going.

    Troubleshooting

    Symptom Solution
Channel LEDs don't stop flashing during pairing Clear preexisting codes from both intercoms
Channel LEDs don't stop flashing when adding a new intercom Clear preexisting codes on the new intercom
Cannot receive/cannot stop transmitting Lock function may be active (exit it) or hands-free is triggering on ambient noise (turn it off)
Sound is distorted or drops out Shorten the distance between intercoms or adjust the antenna
