  • SECO-LARM ENFORCER SLI 820R/820RTC/820RTF — Keyless Entry Alarm System Owner's Manual

    August 31, 2026 6 min read

Owner's manual for the SECO-LARM ENFORCER SLI 820R/820RTC/820RTF series factory keyless entry alarm adapter security system.

    Full text manual (for reference)

    Owner's manual for the SECO-LARM ENFORCER SLI 820R / 820R-4 / 820RTC / 820RTC-4 / 820RTF / 820RTF-4 factory keyless entry alarm adapter security system.

    Model Reference

    • SLI 820R & SLI 820R-4 — excludes RF transmitter (optional)
    • SLI 820RTF & SLI 820RTF-4 — includes 2 RF fixed-code transmitters
    • SLI 820RTC & SLI 820RTC-4 — includes 2 RF code-hopping transmitters
    • Model numbers without "-4" use 315 MHz; models with "-4" use 433.92 MHz.

    Arming (with factory remotes)

    • Active Arming: Turn ignition OFF, close all doors, then lock all doors with the factory remote. One chirp/flash = fully armed. Three chirps = waiting for delayed domelights to turn off, or a zone (door/hood/trunk) is open or malfunctioning — see Zone Bypass.
    • Passive Arming: Turn ignition OFF and exit — closing the last door starts a 30-second arming countdown (LED flashes quickly); one chirp/flash confirms full arming. You can force immediate arming during the countdown by pressing the remote lock button.
    • Important: Ensure the domelight switch is not left ON, or the alarm may not arm properly.

    Zone Bypass

Three chirps/flashes when arming means either (A) delayed domelights haven't turned off yet (normal — alarm protects once they do), or (B) a zone was bypassed (a door may be open or its pin switch broken; it's restored once closed). Locate and fix any bypassed zone promptly, since an unprotected door lets a thief in without triggering the alarm.

    Total Protection

    • Flashing LED deters thieves.
    • Opening a door/hood/trunk triggers the siren and parking lights for up to three 30-second cycles, then rearms and bypasses the open zone.
    • Turning the ignition ON while armed triggers the alarm for 30 seconds; the starter disable prevents engine start.
    • The dual-stage shock sensor: light taps trigger a pre-intrusion alert (3 chirps/3 flashes); a strong shock triggers the full 30-second alarm.
    • Optional SECO-LARM shock, motion, glass-break, and microwave sensors add further protection.

    Disarming (with factory remotes)

    • Unlock with the factory remote — 2 chirps/2 flashes.
    • Active arming, SecureLock™ OFF: fully disarmed immediately.
    • Active arming, SecureLock™ ON: rearms/relocks automatically 30 seconds later unless a door is opened.
    • Passive arming: rearms automatically 30 seconds later; opening a door temporarily disarms, closing it restarts the 30-second rearm countdown; turning the ignition ON during rearm permanently disarms.

    Smart Disarming (factory remotes only)

After locking the doors to arm, you can automatically disarm within the first 60 seconds simply by turning the ignition ON. If you don't, the alarm stays armed.

    Emergency Disarm

If you lose your transmitter: with the ignition ON (while armed or triggered), press and release the hidden "VEPLe" switch 3 times within 15 seconds. Siren/lights stop, and the alarm enters valet mode. Ask your dealer where the switch is hidden.

    Domelight Supervision (optional)

Disarming turns on the domelights for 30 seconds to help you find your car at night and check for anyone hiding inside. If the alarm was triggered, domelights flash continuously.

    Valet Mode

Prevents the alarm from arming, useful for valet parking. To enter: disarm, turn ignition ON, then press/release VEPLe 3 times within 15 seconds (1 chirp/1 flash confirms). To exit: turn ignition ON, press/release VEPLe 3 times within 15 seconds (2 chirps/2 flashes confirms, alarm now disarmed). Pressing Lock/Unlock during valet still locks/unlocks doors (4 flashes); panic and 2nd channel output still work with ENFORCER remotes.

    Dual-Stage Shock Sensor

Stage 1 (pre-intrusion alert): light bump triggers 3 chirps/3 flashes as a warning. Stage 2: sufficient force triggers the full alarm. Sensitivity is dealer-adjustable. With the factory remote, the shock sensor won't trigger until 60 seconds after arming; with an ENFORCER remote, only 4 seconds after arming.

Tamper Indicators & Trigger Zone ID

After disarming a triggered alarm: 2 chirps, 7 parking-light flashes, then the LED flashes to indicate the violated zone:

    • 1 flash — ignition turned on
    • 2 flashes — panic triggered (ENFORCER remote)
    • 3 flashes — shock sensor or add-on sensor triggered
    • 4 flashes — a door was opened
    • 5 flashes — hood or trunk was opened
    • 6 flashes — current sensing triggered

These memory flashes reset automatically when the ignition is turned ON.

    Transmitter Functions (ENFORCER remotes)

    • Lock button: arm the alarm, lock power door locks, reset the alarm, bypass an open zone.
    • Unlock button: disarm the alarm, unlock power door locks.
    • Auxiliary button: operate channel 2 (e.g., pop the trunk, roll up windows), silently arm/disarm, bypass sensors.
    • Panic button: turn the siren ON in an emergency.

    Arming (with ENFORCER remotes)

Active or passive arming work the same as with factory remotes (see above), using the Lock button for active arming.

    Emergency Call for Help (Panic)

Press and hold the Panic button for 2 seconds — siren and parking lights activate for ~30 seconds. Stop by pressing any of the four buttons. Depending on which button is used to exit, the alarm returns to armed, disarmed, disarmed with channel 2 activated, or its prior panic mode.

    Sensor Bypass (ENFORCER remotes)

Useful when a shock/add-on sensor may false-trigger (e.g., parked near construction). Press Lock to arm (1 chirp/flash, or 3 if a zone is bypassed), then within 3 seconds press Auxiliary — 3 chirps/3 flashes confirm sensors are bypassed. Sensors restore automatically the next time Lock is pressed.

    Disarming (ENFORCER remotes)

Press Unlock — 2 chirps/2 flashes, LED off. Behavior after depends on SecureLock™ setting, same active/passive logic as factory remote disarming above.

Patented Stay-Safe Disarm™ (ENFORCER remotes only)

While the alarm is triggered, press Lock once to silence the siren and lights while the alarm remains fully armed.

    Chirp Delete (Silent Arm/Disarm)

    • One-time delete: press Auxiliary before pressing Lock or Unlock — chirps are suppressed for that action only (parking lights still flash); chirps restore on the next transmitter press.
    • Permanent delete: your dealer can program chirps off permanently.
    • Either method suppresses arm, disarm, pre-intrusion, zone bypass, sensor bypass, emergency disarm, valet, and tamper chirps — parking light flashes are unaffected.

    2nd Channel Output (ENFORCER remotes)

Commonly used to pop the trunk. Press Auxiliary for 2 seconds, either with ignition ON and any door open, or ignition OFF. The alarm disarms first to prevent the siren from sounding. Note: without doors connected directly to the alarm, the 2nd channel won't operate with ignition ON — ask your dealer.

Appendix 1 — Siren Chirps and Light Flashes
