    The SECO-LARM ENFORCER E-964-Q Series Quad-Photobeam Detectors are long-range outdoor/indoor perimeter protection sensors. Four selectable beam frequencies eliminate crosstalk when multiple units are installed nearby, and the sensor only triggers when all 4 beams are simultaneously broken — minimizing false alarms from animals, falling leaves, rain, snow, or fog.

    Installation Overview

    1. Choose a location with a clear line-of-sight between transmitter and receiver, away from trees/vegetation, standing water, and direct sunlight. Mount 32"-39" (80-100cm) above the ground for most situations.
    2. Run a shielded cable from the alarm control panel to the sensor (see the manual's cable-length table for AWG sizing by model and voltage).
    3. Wire the transmitter (wall or pole mount) and receiver per the wiring diagram — power, N.C./Com./N.O. alarm output, tamper output, and environmental output terminals.
    4. Set the beam channel selector DIP switches so transmitter and receiver are on the same channel (4 channels available to avoid interference between multiple units).
    5. Turn on the top and bottom lasers of both units. Adjust the transmitter's sensor vertically/horizontally until the red dot centers on the receiver and the receiver's signal LED turns off. Repeat for the receiver.
    6. Use the viewfinder on each unit to fine-tune alignment, then use the included template and beam-alignment buzzer/beam-strength indicator DIP switches to confirm alignment (buzzer stops sounding when aligned; indicator shows strong signal).
    7. For precise fine-tuning, measure output voltage with a multimeter at the voltage test points — see the Voltage Output table below.
    8. Set the delay time knob (50ms–700ms): shorter delay = higher sensitivity (catches fast movement, more false alarms); longer delay = lower sensitivity (fewer false alarms).
    9. Test by walking through the beams at various speeds and adjust the delay knob as needed. Do not connect power until installation is fully complete and double-checked.

    Multiple Sensor Applications

    Where more than one E-964-Q unit is installed nearby (long-distance series, two-layer/stacked, perimeter, or single-pair multi-layer configurations), assign each transmitter/receiver pair to a different channel (Ch1–Ch4) to avoid crosstalk between adjacent units.

    Troubleshooting

    Issue Solution
    Transmitter LED not lit Make sure the input power to the transmitter is 12 to 24 VAC/VDC.
    Receiver LED does not light when interrupted Check the input power to the receiver is 12 to 24 VAC/VDC.
    Beams interrupted and LED lights, but alarm doesn't trigger Check the continuity of the wiring from the receiver to the alarm.
    Signal LED continuously lit Clear obstacles between transmitter and receiver; clean the lenses of both units.
    Alarm trigger becomes erratic in bad weather Check overall system installation; realign the lenses.
    Frequent false alarm triggers Adjust the response (delay) time; change the location of transmitter and receiver.

    Warranty

    Warranted against defects in material and workmanship for three (3) years from the original consumer purchase date. SECO-LARM's obligation is limited to repair or replacement of defective parts if the unit is returned, transportation prepaid, to SECO-LARM. Void if damage is caused by acts of God, misuse, abuse, neglect, improper repair/alteration, or faulty installation.
