Full installation manual for the SECO-LARM Enforcer E-941SA-300RQ 300-lb single-door electromagnetic lock with reversible magnet for left- or right-swing doors.
Manual for the SECO-LARM Enforcer E-941SA-300RQ 300-lb Single-Door Electromagnetic Lock with reversible magnet — ideal for cabinets, small enclosures, or pedestrian gates, with selectable 12/24VDC operation and complete mounting hardware included.
When power is applied, the electromagnetic lock creates a strong magnetic field, attracting the steel armature plate mounted on the secured door. Once deactivated, the door functions normally with no residual magnetism.
Mounting plate, electromagnet, armature plate, armature screw, 2 steel washers, rubber washer, sexnut bolt, 2 guide pins, 5 long self-tapping screws, 2 hex-head mounting screws, 2 tamper caps, 2 Allen wrenches.
| Operating voltage | 12 or 24 VDC ±10% (default 12VDC) |
| Current draw | 420mA @12VDC / 210mA @24VDC |
| Coil resistance | 57Ω ±10% per coil |
| Dimensions | Magnet: 7-7/8"x1"x1-3/8" (200x24x35mm); Armature plate: 6"x3/8"x1-1/4" (152x10x32mm) |
| Operating temperature | 14° to 131°F (-10° to 55°C) |
| Weight | 2 lb 13.5 oz (1.3kg) |
Depending on door/frame type and location, the installation may require a "Z" bracket, one or two "L" brackets, a "U" bracket (typically for glass doors), and/or plate spacers, in addition to the standard armature-mounting-plate approach.
Note: connect switching devices (e.g., push-to-exit switches) between the power source and the lock's positive terminal — connecting to the negative terminal may cause a delay in unlocking.
| Wire Length | 25ft | 50ft | 100ft | 200ft | 300ft | 500ft |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 12VDC gauge @420mA | 20 | 18 | 18 | 14 | 12 | 10 |
| 24VDC gauge @210mA | 24 | 24 | 20 | 18 | 16 | 14 |

"L" bracket (E-941S300R/LQ), "L" & "Z" brackets (E-941S300R/ZQ), "L" & "Z" & "U" brackets (E-941S300R/UQ).
| Symptom | Check |
|---|---|
| Door does not lock | Wires securely tightened to terminal block; power supply connected/operating; coil resistance (multimeter); rubber washer installed and undamaged |
| Door locks but can easily be forced open | Electromagnet/armature plate alignment; contact surfaces clean and rust-free; 12/24VDC present at power leads; coil resistance; rubber washer condition; voltage selection jumper setting |
| Delay in door releasing | The lock already includes a metal oxide varistor for interference suppression — do not add a second diode |
Checking coil resistance: remove the faceplate, disconnect the wire harness from the circuit board, and measure resistance across the Red/Green wires and Black/White wires with a multimeter — each coil should read 57Ω ±10%. Replace the electromagnet if either coil reads open, shorted, or out of range.
Lifetime limited warranty for products sold and installed in the United States and Canada (1 year for all other countries). SECO-LARM's obligation is limited to repair or replacement of the returned (transportation prepaid) unit; no removal/installation/reinstallation costs are covered.
