    Installation manual for the SECO-LARM ENFORCER E-931-S50RRLQ 50ft Large Reflective Beam Sensor — a perimeter security beam sensor with a sensor unit and a separate reflector, up to 50 feet apart, providing reliable intrusion detection with strong immunity to false alarms.

    LED Status Guide

    • Red: No beam signal / triggered
    • Yellow: Poor beam signal
    • Green: Connected to power

    Choosing a Location

    • Do not mount near trees, bushes, or other leafy vegetation — wind won't directly cause false alarms, but can blow leaves/debris into the beam path.
    • Avoid locations where the sensor could be suddenly exposed to bright light (floodlights, headlights) — over time strong light can shorten sensor life.
    • Don't let sunlight or a direct light beam hit the sensor; if unavoidable, mount so the reflector (not the sensor) faces the sun.
    • Don't mount where animals could break the beam, or where the unit could be splashed by water, mud, or sea spray.

    Power input polarity does not matter (12~250 VAC/VDC). Connect the N.C. tamper terminal to your alarm control panel's tamper circuit.

    Installation

    Wall Mount (Sensor or Reflector)

    1. Loosen the cover screw at the bottom of the unit and remove the cover.
    2. Loosen the captive screw, slide the mounting plate downward, and remove it.
    3. (Sensor only) Make a small hole in the rubber grommet, pull wires through, and connect per the wiring diagram.
    4. Secure the mounting plate to the wall using the included screws (use optional anchors for brick/drywall, not included).
    5. Slide the unit into position on the mounting plate and tighten the captive screw.
    6. (Sensor only) Replace the cover and tighten the cover screw.

    Pole Mount (Sensor and Reflector)

    1. Use a pole with a diameter of 1½" to 1¾" (38–45mm).
    2. Fix the mounting bracket to the pole using the included pole bracket and long screws.
    3. Remove the mounting plate from the back of each unit; secure it to the mounting bracket with the included short screws.
    4. Slide the sensor/reflector into position and tighten the captive screw.

    L-Shaped Mounting Bracket (Reflector)

    For installations where the reflector needs to sit perpendicular to the sensor: attach the L-shaped bracket to the mounting plate with short screws, secure the bracket to the wall, then slide the reflector into place and tighten the captive screw.

    Sample Installation Configurations

    • Configuration 1: Sensor and reflector mounted facing each other directly.
    • Configuration 2: Sensor and reflector mounted on perpendicular surfaces.
    • Configuration 3: Sensor and reflector mounted on parallel surfaces but perpendicular to each other, using the L-shaped bracket for the reflector.

    Adjusting the Response Time

    Turn the response time adjustment knob to match how quickly a target is expected to break the beam: faster response (50ms) increases false-alarm risk but catches running intruders; slower response (700ms) reduces false alarms but risks missing a fast pass-through. Use ~350ms as a "walking speed" middle ground.

    Adjusting Alignment

    1. Remove the sensor cover and look through one of the alignment viewfinders at a 45° angle.
    2. Adjust the horizontal (±90°) and vertical (±5°) angles until the reflector is clearly visible in the viewfinder.
    3. Replace the sensor cover.

    Fine-Tuning with a Voltmeter

    Once mounted and roughly aligned, use the voltage output jack to fine-tune:

    Set a volt-ohm meter to the 1–10 VDC range, insert the red (+) probe into the (+) terminal and black (−) probe into the (−) terminal, then adjust horizontal/vertical angles until you hit the highest reading. Do not interrupt the beam while adjusting.

    Troubleshooting

    Symptom Fix
    Sensor does not detect the object Check alignment; readjust response time.
    Alarm LED won't turn on when beam is interrupted Clean sensor/reflector with a damp (not wet) cloth; re-align.
    Alarm LED activates but no relay output Check wiring between sensor and local alarm device.
    Alarm LED continuously ON Check alignment; check for objects between sensor and reflector causing false triggers.
    Erratic output in bad weather Check alignment; readjust response time.
    Frequent false alarms from leaves/birds/etc. Readjust response time; consider relocating the unit.

    Warranty

    Warranted against defects in material and workmanship for one (1) year from the date of sale to the original customer. SECO-LARM's obligation is limited to repair or replacement of the defective part, transportation prepaid to SECO-LARM.
