    Installation manual for the SECO-LARM Enforcer E-931-S35RR Retro-Reflective Photoelectric Sensor — a weatherproof safety/security sensor with a 35 ft. (11m) range, commonly used for garage door and gate safety, overhead door security, industrial automation, entry detection, and alarm applications.

    Wiring (5 wires)

    Brown Multi-voltage power (24–240 VAC or 12–240 VDC; polarity not important)
    Blue Multi-voltage power (paired with Brown)
    Gray Relay Output — N.C. (normally closed)
    White Relay Output — COM (common)
    Black Relay Output — N.O. (normally open)

    Notes: Can be connected to AC or DC voltage. Maximum cable extension length is 325 feet (100 meters).

    Installation & Alignment

    1. Mount the reflector and the sensor so they face each other.
    2. Connect power to the sensor. Typically the red LED will turn ON, indicating the sensor and reflector are not yet properly aligned. If the yellow LED is ON (red LED OFF), the sensor and reflector are aligned (fine alignment adjustment may still be needed).
    3. Turn the sensitivity knob to Max.
    4. Slowly adjust the angles of the sensor (and/or reflector) up/down and left/right to find correct alignment — reached when the red LED turns OFF and the yellow LED turns ON.
      • Note: If both LEDs are OFF, the sensor is at the edge of sensing the signal and may not work properly.

    LED Functions

    • Red LED — ON indicates the sensor is triggered.
    • Yellow LED — ON indicates the sensor is properly aligned with the reflector and not triggered.

    Sensitivity Adjustment

    • Min. Setting — infrared signal at its weakest; sensor is easily triggered by small obstructing objects.
    • Max. Setting — infrared signal at its strongest; sensor is harder to trigger by small objects.

    After proper installation, adjust sensitivity as follows:

    1. Turn the sensitivity knob counterclockwise to "Min."
    2. Slowly turn clockwise until the yellow LED turns ON — mark this position "A". (If yellow LED is already ON at "Min.", position "A" = "Min.")
    3. Put the object to be detected between the sensor and reflector (where it would normally be detected). The yellow LED should turn OFF (red LED ON).
    4. Slowly turn the knob clockwise until the yellow LED turns ON again — mark this position "B". (If the yellow LED never turns ON even at "Max.", position "B" = "Max.")
    5. Turn the knob counterclockwise to the midpoint between "A" and "B" — this is the suggested sensitivity setting.

    Testing

    1. Power up the sensor. Yellow LED should be ON; red LED should be OFF.
    2. Pass the object to be detected between the sensor and reflector. The red LED should turn ON and the yellow LED should turn OFF, confirming detection.

    Note: Shiny/reflective objects (chrome-plated, stainless steel, reflective tape) may not be reliably detected. If this occurs, turn the sensitivity knob counterclockwise until the desired sensitivity is obtained.

    Troubleshooting
